How do you bathe your 10monthold twins?

My girls are 10 months old and I currently bathe them separately in the blue baby bathtub that is sold at target, babies-r-us, etc....

They are now trying to stand up in it, which makes me a little nervous....Also, I was thinking it would be fun for them to have bathtime together, but I am not sure how to logistically pull it off?? Should I try to find a bigger baby bathtub and continue to bathe them separately? or should I put them both in the tub together (although I am scared of them slipping and hitting their heads)....

    Any advice would be appreciated!!

I bathe mine in the regular bathtub with one of those anti-slip mats that is suction cupped to the tub. It works really great, and I can bathe both at the same time!! :D

At 10 months my girls were taking baths in a real tub, together. I find it easier and quicker to do them together. I let them play with their bath toys, then I wash them up. I take them out one at a time wrap them in a towel and carry them to the living room. I'll take a few times getting the hang of it them it'll start going smoothly. Good luck and hope you find a way that will work for ya. :)

Those anti-slip mats are the best!

We bathe them together in the bathtub. We put a towel down on the bottom of the tub so they don't slip.

I do this with my 9.5 month old twins and it works great. It is especially nice during the fussy evenings. They are always happy in the bathtub. Both of mine have fallen backwards. I was right there to lift them up and they were perfectly fine. Yes, it scared me! When my DH is helping get them out then we just wrap them in towels and carry them into their room. However, when I'm alone I will lay one down beside the tub and dry and diaper that one and then quickly move him/her to their bedroom (attached to the bathroom). Then I will get the next one out. I won't leave the bathroom when their is one in the tub . . . not even for a moment!

I would suggest getting some duckies and some bath books. Mine love them. We also have a mat in the bottom of the tub.

    Hope this helps!

mine hate the bath with a firey burning passion so we bathe seperately in the kitchen sink...I tried the big tub with toys both separately and together and it was a nightmare!

We've been trying to figure out how to do this lately also. Our bathtub is textured so the no slip mats and tub rings won't suction - so annoying. Laying a towel down works kind of but they are so squirmy that they move off the towel. Last night in desperation I put the bumbos in the tub and they sat in those. I know they're not designed for that but we are still right there with them and it keeps them from standing up and moving all around so quickly.

We do the exact same thing! :D We just began the tub this week. There is an anti slip mat in the bottom of the tub and DH get in with them in his swim trunks and their toys. They play and have bonding with him. Then they both get scrubbed down. I take one out dry, diaper, pj's and put in the walker and then I get the next one out while DH dries off.

So far they LOVE the tub!!!

We just put them in together in the big tub with toys and they have a blast. I don't worry too much about slipping. A few times they have slipped but they weren't hurt. I can't control them anyway. :D When it's time to get out I first drain the tub, then take one out at a time and towel and diaper them, then carry them one at a time to the bedroom. I never leave them alone with water in the tub, or alone in the tub, not even for a second.

We bathe them separately in the "adult tub" in a bath seat. Our infant tub converted to the seat. They can't fall out of it easily and it keeps them from falling over or slipping.

We use the big tub... and bath seats still. Keeps them from standing up in the tub. I'm not ready for that yet. :D

Right now we bathe them both in the sink with a towel underneath but lately they've been just grabbing everything around them. Sometimes I hop in our big jacuzzi tub with my 4 year old and both of them which they love but I can't help but thinking I'm probably sitting in a big tub of Pee by the end!!! that's a mother's love for you :D
I was goingt to try one of those blow up tubs you get for inside the tub but not sure if they'd both fit in and it's just such a time saver to bathe them together.

We have a deep double sink, so we each do a baby in the sink. It's rare that we do bathtime without both of us. It's a lot of work that way! I would imagine we'll do the sink for a long, long time.

We started bathing them in the big tub at about that age (when they were overflowing the baby bathtub). Usually DH and I did it together and we bathed them at the same time. But if I had to bathe them by myself, I did them one at a time -- I just didn't feel like they could keep their bottoms down and not be falling over, trying to climb out, etc. It wasn't until about 14 months that I was comfortable bathing them together by myself.

They did/do really like the big tub, though.

We bathe ours in the bathtub with the bath seats! They love them because they can still play with toys and splash!! Quinn loves to pull himself up but he doesn't do it in the tub. You can get the bath seats pretty much anywhere, I bought mine online. You do need to shop around because the ones I got listed at $40ea. But I found them on one website for $20ea and I think no shipping!! :a_smil09:

At around 9 months or so we started bathing them together in the big tub. We have 2 bath rings, so they each sit in those and can play and splash. DH usually bathes them and then hands the first one done off to me and he takes the 2nd to dress. If I have to bath them on my own, I do like a PP said and take the first out, dry and diaper next to the tub, then shove her into their room, then get the 2nd one out. We still use the bath rings, not ready to let go of that saftey net yet.

We use the suction bath rings. Our older DD bathes with them so DH does her, then one baby and then we trade off the other baby and he does that one while I dry and dress the first one followed by the second one when he's finished. One days when our older DD is with her grandparents we put them both in the tub with the rings. We usually still do them together but if there is only one of us we put them in, get them washed and let them play and then empty the tub so no one is left in alone while drying the other.

I bathe mine together in the big tub along with their 3-yr old brother. Someone posted a great tip onetime about the big laundry baskets. It's a great tip. After they are washed I wrap each one up in a towel and sit them in a big rectangle laundry basket. I then drag the basket to their room and take them out and get them dressed. I let them run around naked for a few minutes to get a good air dry. Big brother gets to play in the bath for a few more minutes while I dry the babies and get them dressed. I highly recommend using a laundry basket!

I also did the laundry baskets at that age. I bought two cheap ones from walmart and had them each bathe in the tub in their own laundry basket. It was awesome because it kept them out of eachother's way too. Now they bathe in the big tub with no baskets and my DS is always bopping my DD in the head with some toy or the other.

We bathed them together...in a laundry basket!

We put the basket in the tub and then filled the tub (well, not really filled). We had the grippy sticker things on the bottom of the basket. That way they couldn't topple over too far and they wouldn't fall on the ceramic tub if they fell while pulling up, etc. It worked until the boys were close to 18 mo, then they outgrew our basket!

    Exactly what we do!

They have a great time in the sinks together!! DH and I are usually soaked afterwards, but they really enjoy it!

Either we do one at a time or we have the baby bath tub and on one end it has a seat and we just put one baby on each end. Actually we put the baby bath in the big bath tub, put a baby on each end and then we put our six year old in the big bath tub so they are all bathing at the same time. My six year old loves it and we got some great kid pictures.

I have just been looking for "safety" items to help protect the wee ones from potential hitting their heads on the tub. They make a bathtub bumper pad that is inflatable. You can get it at tubtime.com.
