I am just curious on how your twins sleep. My DD1 only slept on her belly and right now my twins are on their belly for more then ten minutes together - SLEEPING! How do yours sleep?

And I know they say back is best. I also know you do what it takes to get sleep :)

I turned mine on their bellies for naps around 2 months, and finally all the time to bellies around 3 months (I was exhausted from no sleep)...best decision I made! They slept so much better--it was wonderful! I know the dangers, however, I had my eye on them all the time until I felt confident they were doing ok. I was raised sleeping on my belly as were my siblings, and honestly, it just looks more comfortable for them too.

I did the same! I have no regrets, watched them closely and found out that SO MANY parents do this but are afraid to tell others. I felt and feel good about the decision!

How do you decide when they're ready to sleep on their bellies? (I'm just learning as I go along and my boys aren't there yet, but I can tell they will sleep better on their tummies when the time comes that it's safe!)

My kids were hardcore back sleepers for awhile (mainly my concern from SIDS made them that way). At around 6 months, they both started rolling over CONSTANTLY and would cry and cry until I flipped them back around. I couldn't take it anymore, so I eventually gave in and did the CIO method. Now, they won't sleep any other way unless their on their tummies.. and in their miracle sacks!

At that age mine were on these memory foam sleep positioners (we needed to elevate their heads because of RSV) so they were on their back. Now that they are too big for the positioners though, my little girl likes to sleep on her side and sometimes rolls to her belly although she HATES tummy time and hasn't quite mastered getting back over so that wakes her sometimes. My little boy has this odd thing where he has to have his feet against something so he scoots himself down until his feet touch the end of the crib and then just sprawls out on his back!

At that age, mine slept on their stomachs but they were also on Apnea monitors and on elevated sleep positioners due to terrrible reflux. My older DD slept on her back until she could roll over.

Our son just started rolling himself onto his belly in the middle of the night, our daughter sleeps mostly on her side. Let me tell you, it freaked me out when I went in to check on our kids & DS was on his belly!!! Still had his paci in his mouth, too!
