How do I take them outside to the front yard or back yard?

I absolutely cannot carry them both on the steps at the same time. So....how do I accomplish this by myself? Stroller? Carry one out and place into a bouncy seat???? superyard??? towel???? and run to grab the other one? Reverse to get back inside?

Do you have car seats that are infant carriers? I used those a lot the first year for baby transportation. I'd move one out to the front porch, place her on the porch next to the door, and then come in to get the second one.

You can also get you a backpack carrier like this Kelty TC 1.0 carrier. I highly recommend those backpack carriers for times when you need to hold both babies! A couple of weeks ago I had a baby in my Kelty carrier while I was cooking dinner, then his brother woke up from his nap, but unlike with front carriers I had no problem scooping him out of his crib and even putting him in his exersaucer with his brother on my back. He got bored with the exersaucer after only 5 minutes, so I picked him up again, and finished cooking dinner one handed, all while holding 2 babies! These backpacks allow for some serious multi-tasking! :) Here I am carrying both babies at once.

I do the baby shuffle.. I use their infant car seats and take one out, then come back in to get the other, all usually while my 2 year old is running around the back yard already enjoying himself. Sometimes I'll go to the car and get the stroller put it out back then come get one baby take him out to the stroller and buckle him in, then come in and get the other baby..

    Good luck!

I think I am in the minority... I carried both of them at the same time! :FIFblush: It was just so much easier-and I probably did this for quite some time.... And then I would just bring one out, and go back and get the other. But we also have a deck, so I went out there a lot as well. Or, I would take them on walks first, then move the stroller to the front yard and let them hang out there.

    But yeah...I carried them both!

At that age I carried both at the same time (I still do sometimes and the weigh about 23 lbs. each). As they got heavier, I would have both of them near the back door and take them out separately.

Thanks. I think the car seats will work really well for this since I have a large flat landing area to place them on--I definitely don't think I use them as much as I should--I really only use them for the car and they just seem to be so much more versatile than that.

I'm another one who carried both at the same time, probably for far longer than was really safe for me or them, but after that I would just make two trips.

I also did and still do carry both, but I kept a pack and play set-up on my back deck and would put one in there and go get the other. I would do that when they were younger but not in carriers to also put them in the car if we were going somewhere just the three of us.
