How can I get it through to my girls who are 27 months that they cannot jump on mommy like they used to and they have to be careful around my belly?

It's not really large enough for them to realize that's it's different. They are still too young

But, they are rambunctious and think it's funny to "smash" you, so they will jump across my lap or they will be sitting on my lap and go to "readjust" themselves and plop straight onto my belly. They just do it so quickly.

I don't want to yell at them b/c they aren't in trouble per se, but I do'nt want to risk putting the baby in jeopardy b/c they think mommy is a trampoline.

there are dollar babies at walmart. i would buy each one of them and let them put in in their shirt.

give them something to protect the way you are protecting your baby.. they will understand..

That's a really good idea. Morgan "knows" that mommy has a baby in her tummy but doesn't understand really waht that means. Reagan doesn't have a clue...lol!

When I was pregnant with the girls I just kept telling Gavyn that he had to be careful around my belly because of the babies. Everytime he would get near my belly I just moved him. He eventually got it and he even started talking to my belly and kissing it. He was only 17 months when they were born, so I'm sure your girls will get it soon. Now I don't have to say much to get Gavyn away from my belly-I just don't know how to handle both girls bouncing on my belly. ;)

Peyton doesn't get it either, although she is a very good listener, so if I ask her not to push on my belly or sit on it, she will listen. She keeps insisting though, that she has a baby in her belly too. She was yelling at me before "Yes, Pey Pey DOES have baby in belly!". I was cracking up.

I could have written your post.

Unfortunatly, my boys really dont get it. Im a rough and tough mom too, and I always used to wrestle. I honestly had to stop putting myslelf in awkward positions, like on the floor, etc...I still lay in bed with them, but I shield myslef with pillows. I reiterate daily, but, it never seems to work.

Sorry I couldnt be of better help.

Oh, and will you be finding out the sex soon?

I hope by the end of October. I will be 20 weeks on 10/31. I have an apt. next week and will be 17w6d, but I don't think I'm scheduled for an u/s...so they will schedule it between next week and 10/31 if I'm lucky!

When you can remember, it would help to replace the words "my belly" with "the baby" or "your baby" until you know the gender. Then you can say your bro or sis...
