How Different Are Your Twins?

My b/g twins are so different in more ways than just weight. Kevin was an easy going baby from the start. He would always be content sitting in a bouncy watching what was going on. Goes down for naps easy, barely even makes a fuss. Wakes up happy and talks to himself until I get him up. He has 0 teeth, but can eat just about anything and a lot of it! He would eat all day long if I would let him. He also gets every last drop from his 8oz bottles and gets angry when its all gone. He doesn't have his pincher grip mastered yet so I still have to hand feed him everything. He's not "crawling" yet, but does an army crawl. He's just started pulling himself up onto his knees onto toys. And he's 22lbs

Paige on the other hand is 18 1/2 lbs. She has been my high-maintenance one from the start. She rarely goes down for a nap without crying for at least a few minutes. And she wakes up crying. There is no in between with her. As soon as she wakes up she wants me to know. She has 3 teeth, with several more coming in, but still has a hard time eating a lot of things. She could also care less about eating. Now after a few bites, she spits everything out. She can feed herself, but still spits most of it out. It's not a picky thing, its just a "I don't have time for food" thing. She hardly ever finishes her bottles either. She's been crawling for a while and standing up on things and walking with the help of a walker.

I was just wondering if it was the same with any other twins? Those with identical twins, are they the same?

My girls are still really little, but we can tell a definite personality difference. They are identical by the way.

We are about 95% sure ours are ID but they are SOOOO different. Brooke is very content just sitting around playing, shes happy in her jumperoo or playyard with her toys...whereas Madison is the princess, my way or the high way, kinda girl. You will know if she is unhappy and she likes to be entertained most the day, along with standing up and crawling everywhere! Even right now they are sick, Brooke is miserable but is smiling away and Madison is pouting and complaining most the time

Yes.. my boy/girl twins have very different personalities. Simon is the easygoing, content to play by himself, one. Mary loves attention and we call her the actress. You definitely know when she is not happy with something and there is a marked difference for a real and "fake" cry. She also gets distracted while eating and is very nosey, wanting to know who is coming and going. Of the two, she is is the more of the attentive to the world around her . Simon only gets upset if you are not getting the food into his mouth fast enough.

They are both a pleasure. Mary is always smile-ready. Simon you may have to coax to smile, but when it comes, it is worth it.

My guys are different and similar---

Differences: Sean is my "easy baby" (For the time being) and James is my demanding baby. Sean is more content to play with something for a while, but James has about a 3 minute attention span. Sean is very patient, but James is easily frustrated. Sean is devious and has very quick hands for stealing James' stuff, James tends to try and overpower his brother to steal stuff. James is a go-getter, and Sean likes to sit back and learn from his brother.

Similarities: They are both competitive, good eaters, good sleepers (for the most part), and they are both really happy.

My older set have had completely different personalties from the day they were born - in fact Colby gets along better with his sister than his twin brother.

Mine are definitely different and we knew that from Day 1 practically. DS is the cuddler and social butterfly. DD is independent and into things more than people. Having said that, she has become much more dependent lately, but I think it's separation anxiety more than anything else.

Mine are still very little, but they have had distunct personalitires since they were in the womb! Alex is laid back and Ava is high maintenence. In the wimb, Ava was always more active than Alex - she was born almost a whole pound bigger. I had a feeling she'd be a brut. during my c-section, Ava's heartrate dropped and the docs had to move quickly. At my follow-up appt this week, my OB asked "if baby B was still giving me a run for my money." lol

    Mine are very different.

Usually Kevin is high maintenance and Patrick is the laid back one. Patrick is ultra sensitive and Kevin is a tough cookie. Patrick is sweet and cuddly and a total Mommy's Boy. Kevin is rough and tumble (and cuddly somtimes too) and is a Daddy's Boy... I could go on and on their differences. And I love that they are!

BTW, love the name Kevin! Great choice! :D

Total opposites here. Emma is laid back, easy-going, hardly ever cries. Jake is....the opposite! :icon_biggrin:

Ours are very different as well. Keira is more demanding, easier to cry, easier to laugh. Maisy is more laid back, will play with something longer, doesn't get upset as easy/as often as her sister. I love their little personalities!

Total opposites here as well. And they were as they are from moment one. Melissa came out screaming her head off and pretty much didn't stop for two years, and Jade is much more laid back. But you've gotta watch those quiet ones, Jade's the one always getting into trouble, while Melissa stays pretty close to the hip. Also Melissa is pretty advanced verbally, can hold a pretty good conversation, while Jade knows all her numbers and letters, and Mel is just getting there. Jade is also showing more athletic prowess -- climbed up a rope net thing at the park today (to the amazement of all of the parents there), while Melissa was like "No way!" and sort of clumsy on easier things even. She's more my "artist" -- loves to paint and does a nice job. Etc etc etc.

They also look very different. Red hair/blue eyes v. brown/brown. Lanky vs. fuller. Pale vs. olivy.

Extremely fascinating stuff. For their mommy anyway.

Mine are complete opposites. Norah has my personality, I'd rather not talk to strangers and I hate polite conversation. She also gives the look, its a look like entertain me or be gone lol. Nevan has dh's personality, very social and talkative. They both can be high maintenance, I usually call the squawker my "squeaky wheel."

Mine are identical and are really similar. They have some different facial expressions, but, on average, their eating, sleeping, and playing habits are basically the same. Their differences always seem to be short lived and eventually even out (for example, in the morning one will be clingy then in the afternoon it's the other one, etc.)

I'll admit, though, that I'm super sensitive to either of them being pigeon-holed as "the xxx one". I don't want them to be defined purely in relation to each other, and I don't want one to feel that she can't be something because her sister has already "taken" that role. I want them both to be able to be "the funny/smart/athletic/etc. one", so it is possible that I am a erring on the side of being blind to some of their differences.

We have opposites. Noah is very active, all over the place. Constantly moving whether it is in a bouncer, walker, on the floor crawling, even in his sleep he wiggles. He want to be in everything and know how it works. He watches intently and then he will try what you have done until he can get it to work. Very tenacious.

Jacob is active but, on a more even keel. He crawls, plays in his bouncer and with his toys but, he focuses on what he is playing with longer. He really loves books. Sits very still to hear stories, loves it story time....he squeals when we get out the books....Noah I have to hold him or put him in the bouncer to somewhat hear the story being read to him. At least, I know he is hearing the words even if he focuses on everything else around him.

Jacob also is more of my cuddler, Noah want to be held only to be fed or played with.
Noah is my better eater; Jacob I have to coax to eat off the spoon.

Jacob has my DH personality...very relaxed, mellow, charming.
Noah has my personality....lets get it done, constant on the go, quick temper when he wants something... :D

Yet, even with their differences there are similarities in their laughs, how they communicate with each other, body movements......
