how did you ladies get back into shape after having your twins and how long did it take? how did you get your saggy tummy back into shape?

my tummy really sagged and i have zillions of stretch marks which are fading now but is there anyway you can make them go away totally?
and my days are so hectic at the moment that i hardly manage to do any post natal exercises either.

would really like your inputs on this.

Well, give yourself a break...you are only 1 month into it! You should not have much time :)
I am almost 6 month pp and pretty much back to my original self. I worked out my entire pregnancy, which really helped my recovery. I started to walk and lift weights right away. I slowly added step, running, heavier lifting, yoga and pilates. Be careful when doing abs that you do not have diastastis (sp) http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001602.htm (good link) about it. DO NOT do ab work if you have this condition. It will heal with time.

As for the sagging skin, mine is almost back into "original" condition, but I would definitely look at your mother if you can to see. If she has stretch marks, you will have a better chance to get them. Most of the post pregnancy things are genetic, as is muscle development. We can always work to change many things, but genetics definitely play a HUGE role.

Try to fit in 20 minutes for yourself and take your time. Enjoy being a mommy to these tiny babies. It goes fast.

    Cassie!

There is nothing you can really do about the stretch marks, just consider them your "badge of honor". They will fade to a silver color after time and become much less noticeable.

Excersize-wise... I do yoga. It gives you long lean muscles that burn lots of fat. :D There is also a Weight Loss forum here, there are a lot of supportive ladies there.

You are only a month post-partum, give it time!!

For me, there was no magical method. It took diet and lots of exercise. I gained 42 pounds while PG. I lost 20 pounds by 2 weeks post partum, gained back 10 of them over the summer. Weaned and started SBD phase 1 in September and lost 15 pounds by November. Took a holiday break, then started a TEAM Weight Loss program at my gym where I work out pretty much every weekday morning at 6am and follow a meal plan. I am now within 5 pounds of my pre-preg weight and can wear most of my pre-preg clothes.

I agree, working out as long as I could helped me lose the weight pretty quick. I walk a lot with the girls when the weather allows and try to get a work out in 2-3 times a week even just for the mental health of having 45 minutes to myself. You'll find yourself running around so much, I think you lose weight just from that!! I gained about 28 lbs (only 5'2") and lost a lot in the beginning, gained some back later and now have evened out but still have that funny looking belly button that just stretced too much. I was never much of a bikini wearer anyway. Hey, you had 2 babies in there!!! B)

I've been pondering the same thing... I'm within 5-6 lbs. of my pre-preg. weight already, I guess mainly because my babies were so huge! So I'm happy with the scale, but still can't fit into many of my old clothes yet, mainly because of this strange saggy belly... will it ever retreat? What do I wear for now?

I'm in the same boat. I have 11 lbs to go...not too bad since I gained 55 lbs w/this pregnancy. But I don't think this blubber belly will ever go back to normal. I officially have a dunlap :p ! Yuck! And we spend most of are summer at the lake...not going to be a pretty sight this summer!

i was advised by the doctor to wear a maternity belt soon after i gave birth to keep the tummy in and at the same time to support the back. In our culture, we also get massages for a month post partum to tone the muscles. But i think because i was carrying twins, i need to do more than that.

apart from the regular workout which i will give myself time before i start that, i am not even getting time to do the post natal exercises that my OB had asked me to do!
