how did you fnd your playgroups?

I really want to join a playgroup to get out more. If you go to one, how did you find yours?

I attend some through our twin mom's club. I also have one that meets somewhat regularly from moms that I used to work with (we all got pregnant at the same time and have all kind of gone our separate ways work-wise).

I have met lots of moms through a weekly mommy and me class that we take. We get together every other Wed now too in addition, to play at the park.

 

I concur with Kate, your local twins mom group will know.

I joined through the same group Sarah gave you a link for. It's so nice to go to playgroup with other mom's of twins becauase they UNDERSTAND like no one else!

 

I joined my local MOMS Club (momsclub.org). It has been a true life saver. I'm a member of a twins club too, but the playgroups don't meet on a regular basis.

I have one playgroup through my local Moms of Multiples club.

I have another playgroup that has stemmed off from the moms support group at the hospital where the twins were born. They have a weekly support group for new moms. All the moms come with their babies. The moms formed a playgroup so we could get together socially during the week and continue to see each other when we're not "new" moms anymore.

There is another playgroup that has formed in my neighborhood. I found this one through my neighborhood newsletter, but there are others you find out about through word of mouth.

I don't go to all of these playgroups on a regular basis! But I do try to attend something once a week.

You can try doing a search on Yahoo Groups. Two of my groups have Yahoo groups so we can keep in touch and in doing searching I found that there are many other local playgroups that welcome new members.

 

we got one started by meeting all these new moms that were in the cry room at church- we just started meeting and hanging out every wednesday- now we rotate houses and hang out most of the day wednesday.
it's such a blessing and i look forward to it every week!

 

Our playdates stemmed from going to gymboree. Then from friends made from preschool. There is also a playgroup through my towns Parks and REd Dept that is awesome too. As well as a twins playgroup that I have yet to attend.
