I am now 36 weeks and 3 days.. I am thinking it could be any day! I am being induced Friday the 11th, and I am just wondering how you all felt before you went into labor... I have times where I swear I am having bad contractions and then they just go away :( I can barely walk these days and am so anxious to meet my boys!! I have so much pressure in my "area" that if feels broken.. I would love to hear your experiences :)

Glad you asked this question ... I'm having so many more BH and feeling so heavy below ... I'm only at 35 weeks, but miserable with the pain that comes and goes - really seems to wear me down. So different than pregnant with one. Interesting to hear how others have felt.

With my twins I had a scheduled c-section (at 38 weeks) but I think I was in early labor that morning anyway. They were born on Jan 3. On New Years eve, I started to swell, my ankles were unrecognizable! I also had so much vaginal pressure that I felt like baby A would surely just fall out at any second! I had been having contractions since like 22 weeks here and there but when they hooked me up at the hospital they were regular - I don't know if I was in labor or just nervous and irritating my already irritable uterus!?

With all 3 of my vaginal deliveries where I was allowed to just go into labor on my own, The only way I really knew I was in labor was bleeding along with contractions or my water breaking. With my ds #3 I had contractions all night they got to 3 minutes apart and we headed to the hospital - as soon as I got into the car they stopped!! I went on because I had that bloody show and I wanted to be checked. He was born like 6 hours later. I also second the diarrhea cramps. Oh my goodness!! with Ds#1 I thought I had a virus or something!! I actually did have bad diarrhea the whole day before he was born. Someone told me that can be a way our bodies clean us out to get ready for the birth?? all I know is it was bad! LOL! With ds#2, My dh had to go to work very early and far away and this was our pre cell phone days LOL! When I got up as his alarm went off to go to the bathroom I noticed a tiny trickle i thought I had peed on myself a bit! When I stood up no more trickle so I went to the bathroom, cleaned up, walked around the house helping dh get ready to go and when he left, I went back to my bed - when I sat down I had the same trickle! back to the bathroom I went to change - sat back down and TRICKLE!! I had to wait an hour to give dh time to get to work because he was in the car with no phone! As soon as he walked in the door at work, he had to come home - I was not having any contractions at the time just trickles of water at times and I knew I did not have to use the bathroom - Ds's head was acting like a cork at times so it was not a huge gush UNTIL.. we get to the dr office and the midwife checked me NIAGRA falls!! LOL!! I had to walk into the hospital with wet pants and a huge towel between my legs. luckily they brought me a wheel chair pretty quick!

With my singleton, I had bad cramps, and really bad back pain. I coudlnt get comfortable. The pain came and went pretty regularly. LIke PP said I also had bleeding. I laboured at home with him for a long time though before I went into the hospital. I went into labour Monday morning at 3 am, went to the hopital Monday night at 11 and he was born tuesday afternoon at 4:12.

With the twins I had reg conractions starting at 24 weeks, was hospitalized for PTL then. I had a scheduled section at 37 weeks, but I pretty much had contractions regularly until they were born

Good luck, you are SOOO close!

I didn't feel any different the day I went into labor. I had tried all week to induce labor but nothing. That day (Labor Day) I gave up. I went into the tub for my 3rd bath of the day and felt a gush. My water broke. I had 2 real contractions in the hospital, both times while being checked by the docs.

I had lower back pain that did not go away the entire day. I had back pain all the time but this time it did not go away with positional changes. So I went in and was checked. 4cm and 90% effaced with a bulging bag but the Dr. Sent me home. 8.5 hours later I had my first contraction that woke me up and we went to the Hosp 1 hour later at 1:30am and by 2am we had baby 1 and 9 min later her sister. It was fast and chaotic but we have enjoyed them so much! If you feel real different or back pain that is different or does not go away I would go to L&D. Good Luck!

I started to have regular contractions the day before they were born, I couldn't feel them though. I only knew because the NST showed I was having contractions. The day they were born I had contractions all day but they weren't painful at all so I didn't think much of it. Until I started to have bloody show, and when I stood up I literally felt like Baby A was coming out, that's when I decided to go in to L & D even though my contractions were never painful. I was already about 6cm dilated when I got to the hospital and within an hour I was having a c section.

Thank you all so much! I know I have ten days until my induction but why does that seem like a year from now? :) I just can't wait to meet my boys and hold them in my arms!! As we speak I am walking around walmart hoping this will help.

I too had the on and off again contractions for what felt like forever. At 36 weeks I went in with regular contractions with increasing intensity (had to stop walking when one came) - went from 2-4cm and then .... was sent home :spiteful: I was crushed. So many times I would lay down at night timing the contractions convinced delivery would be a few hours away, only to wake up a few hours later and nothing - ugh.

So, I walked miles a day (poor dog was exhausted), lieterally ran after my 2 year old and cleaned like a mad women. I did not want to be sent home again so I would not go back in despite contractions. I had some back pain and contraction the am of my 38 week visit. The nurse took one look at me in the waiting room and said "you are having contractions aren't you? What are you doing here?"
She rushed me back to a room, doc checked me 5-6 cm and then rushed me out of there. It is 25 minutes to the hospital and they were really worried I would deliver there. Was another 10 hours before I delivered.

Hang in there, it will be soon. Maybe all the barometric changes with the storms will help you!

lol be patient and rest rest rest. im telling you the work hasnt even begun yet! i suggest just lay down get yourself comfortable, sleep sleep and sleep.

i woke up at midnight, went to bathroom, when i stood up pulled my pants up, my water broke, didnt feel a thing. but i knew its time. we went to hospital. 1hr later, my labor started with contractions contractions. my girl kept kicking me forever and contractions came and went away all day the day before they came.its different for every of us. but when its time, you will know definitely. you will feel it.

so if there is a movie you wanne watch, or anything you wanna do, do it. relax and enjoy. they will come when theyre ready. good luck and see you soon in FY

Started having contractions the Sunday before, during the Lost finale, Up all night walking up and down the street. It was so hot and my feet were so swollen.

Then all week lots of contractions but nothing really. Went in Friday for my weekly check and they sent me to the hospiyal for observation. Nothing.

Saturday a ton of energy. Went for a long drive, got ice cream, waded in the river, went to a little league game in the neighborhood, went out to dinner, saw some fireworks. It was great!

Next morning I was tired. Took a nap after reading the paper. I pinned the baby quilt, needed to lay down. Napped for three hours. Had some almonds, went on facebook, and my water broke. I was SO ready!!
