How did you drop the night bottle?

Did you give a sippy of milk with dinner and that's it? Or did you give a sippy of milk before bed?

    How did you do it?

    Thanks.

I nursed, but the nightime feeding was the last one I dropped. When we did, I just gave them a sippy after dinner. I totally stressed about it, thinking they'd never fall asleep well, but it was the easiest thing. I always pictured having their last feeding replaced by a sippy while snuggling and reading night time books. We finish out milk downstairs before we go up for a bath.

I gave them waternin a sippie as the last drink of the day. I also would give them a snack and brushed their teeth before bed.

I kind of changed their meal times. It was the smallest bottle they were drinking anyway. I changed their dinner to a later hour and gave them a snack where their afternoon bottle was. With the snack I always offer them a sippy of milk and they usually drink it because it's where one of their bottles used to be. I don't over load them on snack so that they will be hungry enough to drink the milk. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I usually offer them juice or water with their dinner but that's because since we have switched over entirely to sippies they are not drinking as much milk but I need to make sure they are drinking SOMETHING so I offer what I know they will drink...for now. We started to offer them water instead of their evening bottle and sometimes they take some and sometimes they don't but we have been very lucky that it is one of the FEW things they have adjusted with no problems.

Two nights in a row they didn't drink much from their bedtime bottle (and we were planning to stop about 2 weeks later anyway) so I just decided to stop then.

Mine get a sippy of milk at dinner and then a 1/2 sippy of milk right before bed. We give them a sippy at 7:00 and they drink it as they are playing and then bedtime is 7:30.

The first 2 nights I dropped it, I gave them some milk in a sippy before bed. They really didn't take much, so I stopped that and the last milk they get is with dinner, if they are thirsty before bed they get water.

Mine get a sippy with milk at dinner, and then they just hold onto it until we brush teeth right before bed. We only take it away during bath time

I took my cues from the girls. They kept throwing their bottles and not drinking much out of them at bedtime. So I decided I'd just switch to 3 sippies of milk with meals and they actually would drink the milk that way. We give them a bath and brush teeth then I take them into their room and we all sit on the floor to read a book. After the book it's lights out. They didn't even notice I had taken the nighttime bottle away. No fussing and they still went straight to sleep. I don't know how I got that lucky but it's the truth. Maybe you could give them a sippy before their bedtime a couple of nights and see if they do well. If so, then move it to meal time and see if they notice. Good luck.
