How close in size are your ID twins?

We had our 4 month appt. today and I was so surprised to see that my ID boys were exactly the same in everything - both weighed 11lbs 10oz, both were 23.5 inches long and both had head circumferences of 42 cm. They've always been close in size (varying by a few ounces), but it was so amazing to me that they were exactly the same today!

Which made me wonder....are others' ID twins the same size all of the time or do you notice a variation (sometimes they are the same, other times they are different)?

    Thanks!

Sometimes one will pull ahead by a few ounces but they have been weighed and weighed the exact same ... probably 4 or 5 times! They have never weighed more than 4 ounces apart. They are weighed once a month when we get the Synagis shots.

Since 2 months, mine have always been the same size or a 1/2 ounce apart for weight and within a 1/2 inch for height. At our 6 month appointment when they were exactly the same height and weight our doctor said to us "I think they are taking this identical thing to the extreme aren't they?" :D

Mine have always been very close. Even now at 2 years old, at their last apt, they were the same height and weight!

My boys were more than a lb difference at birth and 1 1/2 inches in length, but Van is catching up to his brother very quickly! At their 4 month appt, they were only 6 oz apart and they were the same length. I'm curious to see what the stats are now. They have their 6 month check up next week.

I guess I'm the odd woman out... my ID girls are a full pound apart at one year old. Viv's 21 pounds and Ella is 20.

My ID's were born at 5.11 and 4.3. Then the littler one lost even more weight and went down to 3.8 while the "healthier" (I am avoiding saying "bigger") didn't drop down that much so there was about a 2 pound weight difference and boy could you tell!

Right now there is still about a pound and a half weight difference, at 11 pounds and 9.5. She is also shorter than her sister but they have about the same head circumference.

My boys were 5#15oz and 5#11oz at birth and have been exactly 4oz apart at every single check up since. They were also a half inch apart in length and are still a half inch apart now!!

My girls through their last appt at 15 months have been within oz. of each other and usually a 1/4 - 1/2" (depending on how squirmy they were!)

And since they have been neck and neck, I really think Ellie's length measurement at birth was probably wrong??? How on earth could she grow enough to not only catch up, but keep up with her sister?

Mine are same height and same head circumference, but Amelia always weighs more, usually by about 1/2 pound. You can't tell by looking at them together though.

My girls had an 11 oz. difference at birth but same length. The "littler" one has caught up quite a bit, and they've usually been anywhere from 2 to 6 oz. apart in weight and have differed in length just slightly...maybe by 1/4 inch or so sometimes. I haven't had them measured/weighed since their 9 month appointment, but their one year is coming up soon.

I think so many factors can influence growth, even in ID twins. TTTS, cord placement, difference between monochorionic and dichorionic, appetite, other health issues, etc.

Erynn was born at 6 lbs 8 oz 19.5 inches- she is now 13 lbs 1 oz and 24.5 inches. Abby was bron at 6 lbs 3 ozs and is now 11 lbs 13 oz and 24 inches. They haven't changed in their height difference- but htey sure have on weight- Erynn just eats more often! Their head circumference is the same though.

When my guys were born Jack weighed 5 pounds 15.5 ounces and William weighed 5 pounds 13.5 ounces. They were both 18 3/4 inches long. Jack has always been a little bigger. When we went for the six month checkup, he weighed 18 pounds and William weighed 17 pounds 10 ounces. Not too much of a difference, but when people ask how we tell them apart I always say that Jack is just a little bigger and when they look, they can see that he is a little "healthier" than William.

Jake is 7 lbs bigger than Peyton. Always was about a lb. difference and just kept getting bigger. Peyton is more active so I think that is why he weighs less.

My ID twins (mo/di) are a full THREE pounds different. They had TTTS and were born a full pound apart.

At 4 months, my twins were 9.5 pounds and 13 pounds. So, yeah, they look VERY different. One is 20-25th percentile and the other isn't even on the charts. I think the TTTS had a lot to do with this.

My girls were EXACTLY the same at birth. They both weighed 5lbs. 13oz, were both 18 1/2 inches long, they even had the same head and chest circumference! The doctors and nurses were amazed and none of them had ever seen that before. In the beginning they stayed the same, but now they are a few ounces different. I weighed them Friday and Izzy was 15lbs 8oz and Olivia was 15lbs 15oz. Olivia is now a little longer too, by about 1/2 an inch. They've never been more than 8oz or 1/2 inch different.

We had ttts and my donor (B) was 4 lbs even 17 inches. Rec. (a) was 5lbs 5oz 18 inches. Last time they were measured at 6 months they were over three lbs apart but still an inch apart. B was 26 inches 11lbs 10 oz. A was 27 inches 15 lbs 10 oz. I go for their 9 month in 2 weeks. I know both are gaining but wouldn't be surprised if there was still at least 3 or 4 lbs difference.

For the first 6 months or so there was about a pound difference between them but they've evened out and at our last checkup they were just 2oz apart in weight and the EXACT same height, to the quarter inch.
