How big were your twins?

My boys were born at 37.5 weeks. They were 6 lbs 2 oz. and 6 lbs. 9 oz. I was induced. I am 35 weeks along with a singleton now and was very surprised to learn that I'm measuring "small" and that the baby is also measuring "small" - she's only 25th percentile for size. I am 6 feet tall, my husband is 6 foot 2 inches and my boys are very tall for their two years of age (they're 34/35 lbs each and 36/37 inches tall). How can I be having a small baby?! It's so odd having a singleton after twins because you have so little to go by - I don't know how big I grow singleton babies (I thought 13 lbs of twin boys was pretty good last time!), I don't know how far along I'll get (I had an induction last time), etc.

Just wondering if anyone else is having a similar experience or has any thoughts.

My twins were 6 pounds 14 ounces and 6 pounds 10 ounces born at 36w 3d. This baby I think is going to be big. My oldest was 9 pounds 12 ounces and he was only 5 days late.

Mine were born by induction at 37 weeks.
They were 5#4oz & 4#13oz. Evereyone is different! They were perfectly healthy just a full pound smaller than the doc & I anticiapted them to be.
Im pregnant w/ a singleton now as well so Im curious to see what it will weigh.

I had a singleton first that was almost 8lbs. So when I had the twins I was so worried that once they reached that weight, my water would break. Nope I went the same amount of time you did with your twins! It's amazing how your body works! So then I thought, like you, that this next one (also a single) was going to be HUGE because I was going to full term and had just carried almost 12lbs of baby! Nope he came out weighing the same amount as my oldest twin, 6lbs 11oz. I was shocked! I thought for sure he would be bigger.
    Enjoy your singleton pregnancy!!

I think it's just different with every baby. My single babies varied from 7#4 to 8#8, getting bigger each time. My twins were 5#3 and 7#9.

My twins were born at 37w3d and they were 6lbs 14oz and 7lbs 11oz. My biggest single baby was 9lbs 6oz born three days early. My OB is guessing this one weighs near 9lbs at 38 weeks. I'm really hoping she decides to come sooner than later, lol.

My twins were born at 37w5d. They were 7#,11oz & 7#,7oz, 21 inches each. Evan was 10#,1oz born at 40w1d. Everyone is different.

I wouldn't put too much stalk into the u/s estimates. I got an u/s two days before my induction with Dax and he was estimated at 8 lbs. The u/s ladies said that the estimate is almost always bigger than the baby so they predicted 7.5 lbs. Five midwives also palpated my belly during my induction and every one individually predicated about 7.5 lbs as well. Well, he was 9.9 lbs.
Ewan was estimated to be between 7-8 lbs a few days before my induction and the midwives agreed. Again, I had a 9 1/2 pounder. So, your baby may actually be a little larger than you expect. :)

My oldest DD was 6lb 12 oz and 21 inches long. My twins were born at 35 wks and 3 days and they were 3lb 9.5 oz and 4lb 12 oz both 17 inches long. My smaller twin had IUGR, but the ultrasound done 1 day before they were born estimated my baby A and 4 12 and baby B at 5 1. I haven't got that far with this one yet but I'm really wondering how big he/she will be. I wouldn't worry if I were you though, a friend of mine was told to expect a pretty small baby and it ended up being her largest at 9 lb 5 oz!

My boys were born at 38 weeks via scheduled c/s. Nicholas was 6lbs 13oz and Anthony was 6lbs 3oz. With this last pregnancy, I had Annabella at 39 weeks via scheduled c/s. She came in weighing 7lbs 9oz. Two weeks prior to her birth, she was estimated via u/s to weigh....7lbs 9oz!

    You just never know!

My twins were 5lbs11oz and 5lbs 15oz...my singletons were 8lbs3oz and 7lbs6oz...my most recent baby was smaller than my first which surprised me. But you know, I remember an u/s tech telling me that the growth scans after 35 weeks aren't all that accurate. I've heard stories of predicted Huge babies turning out average or smaller and vice versa...so you never know. As long as the baby is on the charts I really wouldn't worry about it. It can be genetic or even just the placenta function...or maybe even diet related...I ate tons of healthy food like broccoli for my first baby and lots of junk for my latest baby...I guess chocolate and icecream doesn't necessarily make a chunky baby!
