How Big Is Your Twin Nursery?

    Hi everyone,

I normally post on the 'expecting twins' board, but I figured that I'd ask some folks that are currently using their nursery. I was just curious how large a baby nursery should be for twins. The room we are planning to use is only 10x11. We have two simple cribs, one changing table and one armour. We have a 5x3 closet in the room. Does this seem large enough? We do have a bigger room which is our guest room and it is about 15x12. The problem is that this room is right next to my office (I work from my home). Opinions?

    Thanks
    brian

Brian, I think that sounds fine, they start off small :icon_biggrin: ....how is she doing? I have been following your posts in expecting.

Thanks Becky. She is doing MUCH better than last week. They are going to do an u/s tomorrow and a FFN test. If the FFN comes back negative and her cervix is at least 2cm when not contracting, then they will let her go home on strict bedrest. We'll know more tomorrow. She made it two weeks in the hospital, and tomorrow will be 28 weeks!!!!

We have that size room and we also have our 5 year old sleeping there too! I think you will do fine! Hope your wife is doing well! :)

I don't know the exact dimensions, but our nursery isn't that big and it suits them just fine. I think a "cozy" nursery has charm all its own anyways.

Our room was exactly that size for the first 2 years. I had to really stay on top of keeping the clothes organized & sized, but it was fine. I don't know if it was having boy/girl twins or just that we have too much stuff, but it was the clothes that made me crazy

That size of room should be fine, I don't know how much time you will be spending in there, but if it's a sleeping/diaper changing place, then that will be plenty!

We have a 10X12 room with a closet smaller than yours and it works fine for us. We moved our dining room table to our spare bedroom to make the dining room their playroom for now so the only thing we need the room for is clothes storage and sleeping. Good luck!

Ours is the same size as well...but we do have a great walk-in closet...We love it now, but it should be interesting when they go into regular beds!
Good luck and we'll be sending good vibes for your appt. today!!

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all of the responses.

Well, today was NOT a very good day. My wife needed an cervical measurement of at least 2.0 and a negative FFN test to possibly get out of the hosptial. Her cervix came back at 1.3cm and 1.5cm dilated. The FFN test was positive. This was NOT the news we were looking for. She is 28 weeks today. She has survived 2 weeks in the hospital now.

Sooo, we are not sure what to think. The peri seems to think we have plenty of time and wasn't that concerned with the positive ffn. He did boost the terbutaline a bit to help with the irritable uterus. So, now we just sit and wait and hopeful she gets lucky and can keep cooking these babies as long as possible. We are praying A LOT.

Anyone have any positive stories with a situation similar to ours?
