For those of you who live in Houston and are SAHM's. Do you have any kind of help during the week? Are your twins in mother's day out? If so where do your twins go? I live in NW Houston, I'm looking for a good mother's day out but I havent got any recommendations yet. Also do you attend playgroups? How did you find out about your playgroup?

    Thanks!

Well I am not in Houston, but am a SAHM. :D I know there are some Mom's day out programs here. Check your local phone book to see if they are listed. Ours are through some local churches. We do a twins playgroup through our local multiples club, so that may be an option for you as well. I don't have any help during the week, only when I need my Mom to come and watch the kids so I can go somewhere, but that's it.

    Thanks Amy!

Good ideas! I've checked online, but I'm looking for a personal recommedation.

I know there's a multiple group near us, need to check it out...

I live in south east houston so can't help with the MDo but for a playgroup I joined the local chapter of the international MOMS club. www.momsclub.org to find a chapter near you.

    good luck.

I live just south of Tomball. I am a SAHM. I do not have any help during the week and I cannot afford a MDO or preschool expecially for 2. I have never used a MDO but I have used the High school run preschools which are for ages 3 & 4 and are super affordable at $85 a semester. Can't wait until next year so I can enroll the twins at KLein High school nursery school where my others went. I know other schools both in Klein ISD and other districts have them as well.

Our church has an organized playgroup monthly. But they also have other activities that we are welcome to bring kids to like a back to school brunch, a quilting group that meets monthly where kids play in one room and moms quilt in another. They also had a book goup that meets and last month they met at a park so the kids could play while moms discussed the book. So I have opportunities to socialize and the kids have friends and intereaction too. Right now is soccer season so kids (not on the team) play during practice time.

I still hangout with my old playgroup (also chrch related) which meets weekly but since we moved a little further away I only make that one monthly as well.

I find it helpful to have babysitting swaps. When I volunteer at the elementarty school a friend watches my kids and I watch hers for her when she volunteers or shops or dr appts...whenever we need a sitter.

The other thing we enjoy is storytime at the library. We got to toddler time at Tomball library now but I have been to the Bush library one as well.

It is amazing how busy we stay! Our church playgroup meets the second friday of the month, when I know what the Oct activity is I can let you know and you can try it out...anyone is welcome.

    Hi Denise!

I'm in central Houston (Reliant area) and I'm a member of the Bellaire area Mom of Multiples group. I don't have help but we get out daily. I've been taking them to a great park that I posted about a couple of weeks ago, we go to Gymboree once a week, I take them to the shopping in the wagon, and we belong to a play group that we find through our MOM's club. I highly recommend joining this this group. I was reluctant at first and assumed that I had very little in common with most of the members but I later found that the whole twin thing is all the commonality you need. We don't meet quite as often as I would like, but I enjoy the times we do. As far as MDO, I'm no help. But again, this is just the type of information you'll be able to have access to once you join the club. Good luck and if you're ever "in town" let us know!

    Hi there!

Yes, I too don't have the extra means right now to put them both in MDO programs. It would be wonderful though. I was specifically looking for a church based one. But they are all so pricey. The MOM groups meet at 7pm and that's usually during the kids bedtime routine. I guess I'm just going to have to wait until my MIL comes back to stay with us at the end of October.

I also need them to have some social interaction with other kids their age. Our friends and family with kids their age either stay overseas or stay too far from us. This sure is a challenge I'm going to have to overcome somehow.

Cindy, I stay near Klein Park. About 10min drive. If you stay close to the park maybe we can meet up some day?

Our MOMs group has babysitting available during the meetings. That might be possible for yours as well. If you can't make it to a meeting, you may be able to email the pres (or a general email) inquiring about any other MOMs that are either looking for a playgroup, or join one that is already meeting. I have found that whenever I ask a question to our local MOMs group, they are more than happy to provide the necessary information.

    Good luck!!

I live in the Klein Area as well. I work tho :( We should have a twin stuff gathering at a park or something on a weekend. I would love to hang out with other twin mommies. I agree though. Paying for Gymboree or little gym and stuff like that is just too expensive.
