Well I went in today at 9am for a regular checkup and told what all has been happeneing concerning my mucous plug. I've been having a lot of contractions today so my dr just looked at my cervix without physically feeling for dialation. He said it looked closed and then he sent me for a non stress test to watch for contractions. I was having too many so they sent me to labor and delivery for some shots. They gave me one for the babies lungs and one to try stopping contractions. They put me in L&D because the contractions wouldn't stop. They couldn't give me another shot because my heart was going way too fast so they put me on an IV and monitered me for a few hours. My dr came in and actually checked physically to see if I was dialated, I'm dialated at 3cm. I was allowed to leave at 4pm finally but have to go back tomorrow for another shot. He doesn't want me on bed rest either and says he has found that women and their babies do better when the mom is still a little active. Boo, guess I'll still be expected to cook and clean up every night.

I hope these babies stay in for another month!

Kimani, I'm sorry this is happening. I'm hoping they stay in for another month as well. Hey, if you are too tired to clean up everynight, take it easy and let the hubby do it. ;) Listen to what your body needs.  Keep us posted.

Please take it easy. I'm also dilated 3 cm and on hospital bed rest. I'm also 100% effaced and contracting quite a bit, even through the meds (procardia and a shot of terb prn). At least we're past the 32 week mark which is good, but a couple more weeks would be even better. Hang in there, and please take it easy!!!

Take it easy and stay hydrated. I know at 32 weeks, I was done with all housework, so listen to your body and rest up!! Keep us posted!

haha I wish it was that easy as letting him clean up. He has only cleaned up after his own cooking once...ever. I've seen him do dishes once. its driving me nuts.

thanks for the kind words though everyone.

    UPDATE-

Back in hopsital. I decided to take a warm bath and started contracting a lot. I had about 7 in 35 minutes and had to get dh's mom to come get my son so we could drive to the hospital in the next town. Got admitted about midnight with contractions every 2-3 minutes. My dr came in a said that if my cervix was dialated I was getting a copter ride to Lubbock. My heart sank. Luckily though my cervix is still at 3cm. They gave me another terblutane (sp?) shot and put me on an IV but the contractions still weren't going down too much. Then they put me on magneseum sulfate and I'm still here on it feeling awful. The contractions are about 10min now. I'm trying to hang in here, soooo tired and can't get comfortable at all. I'm scared that I'm going get sent to tx.
My family is supposed to visit us today but they don't know I'm in the hospital again. I hope they come, my son is going to need them.

Oh no. I'm so sorry to hear that. I went through the mag drip too. It was HORRIBLE. I hope you're off that stuff soon, and able to keep your oven on a little longer.

STILL here on the drip. Now they have slowed waaaay down to like 1 contraction an hour or so. I get taken off tomorrow and hopefully free to go home around 5 or 6 pm. I can't wait to get all these needles out of me and climb in bed!!!! My veins are like burning up my arm, and I'm burning up. I also got another steriod shot for my boys lungs.

My family made it down here and my momma is sleeping at the hospital with me right now. I missed her so much, even though she drives me crazy sometimes.

And my dr admitted that my cervix has closed slightly since I've been on bedrest here, so I'm getting put on it at home except for bathroom breaks and to get my son ready for school in the mornings.

Well they took me off the Mag-drip IV at around noon to see how I was doing. I had a few concrations including one whooper of one but they were so spread apart that I was discharged not too long ago with a prescription of the Terbultane (sp?) for every 6 hrs and moderate bedrest. I have to go back if I start getting 6 contractions in an hour.

He said if they can stay in for another week and a half to two weeks then I probably won't have to be transported to Lubbock!

What a crazy scary weekend. I'm just going to take it one day at a time from here on out.

 Kimani! I am sorry that you are having to go through this, but I am very happy they gave you the steroid shots for the babies lungs. I strongly believe those shots helped my girls lung development immensely. Mag is a hard drug to have to be on, Im glad they were able to take you off of it. GL!!

Thanks. Starting to feel better and trying to drink lots of water to flush out the Mag. My babies must be feeling better too cause they are kicking around a lot more than they were when I was on the drip.

That was awful and scary. I've had a couple pretty big contractions, one lasted about 3 min, but they are nowhere close to each other, or even in the same hour.

Please take bedrest seriously. I know you have your son and other things to do but keeping those babies in a few more weeks (even days) can make a huge difference. I went into PTL at 32 weeks (did Terb and Mag and steroids) and went home on strict bedrest after dilating to 3cm with contractions every 2-3 minutes.

DH made me stick to bedrest and I firmly believe that, along with lots of cooperation from my body, allowed me to keep the boys in until 36 weeks, when my water broke.

Rest up and let us know how you're doing.

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts! I've been working on staying in bed and being on top of taking the pills. I just feel so drained now and have been drifting in and out of consciousness, but I'm thinking that's just my body trying to make up for the lack of rest at the hospital.
DH is at a loss, he's never really had to do housework other than tiding up, perhaps now he'll see where I've been coming from.
