    <_<
    HERE I S MY STORY,

ON TUES AFTERNOON, I TIRED TAKING A NAP, BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN I FELT PAIN AND PRESSURE ON MY RIGHT WHICH WENT TO MY LEFT AND THEN BACK! ALTHOUGH I HAVE FELT THESE BEFORE, AND TUMS HAD ALWAYS HELPED AND ALSO A BOWEL MOVEMENT, SO AS ALWAYS I WASN'T THAT MUCH CONCERNED, HOWEVER FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR, THE PAIN NEVER WENT SO I CALLED MY DOC AND SHE SD I SHOULD GET ADMITTED TO LABOR AND DELIVERY

AS SOON AS WENT, THEY MONITORED ME CLOSELY, TRYING REALLY HARD TO FIND THESE TWO'S HEARTS BEATS, AS ALWAYS THEY WERE JUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! THEY PUT ON THE IV, THE RESIDENT DOC CAME IN ASKED A ZILLION QUESTIONS THEN DID AN ULTRASOUND FOUND WHERE THEY WERE LOCATED. ALSO THEY DID THREE TESTS WHICH INCLUDING TAKING SWABS OF THAT AREA AND ALL CAME OUT NEGATIVE FOR PRE-TERM LABOR!!!!

HOWEVER WHEN SHE DID A VAGINAL ULTRASOUND, SHE SAW THAT I HAVE WHAT THEY CALL A "DYNAMIC CERVIX"?!? SHE EXPLAINED THAT ALTHOUGH THE OUTER LAYER REMAINS SHUT THE INNER ONE KEEPS OPENING AND THEN CLOSING! SO LOW AND BEHOLD, I AM KEPT FOR 24 HRS AT OUR HOSPITAL. TO GIVE THEM A BETTER,CHANCE SHE ALSO GAVE ME TWO SHOTS OF STEROIDS , FOR THEIR LUNGS. EVERYTHING WENT WELL AFTER THAT!! NO MORE SCARES LIKE THE ONE WE HAD , I HAD TO TAKE INSULIN SHOTS AS WELL AS THEY SD SUGAR WOULD INCREASE WITH THE STEROIDS!

THE BIG ULTRASOUND THAT THEY DID THE NEXT DAY DIDN'T PICK UP THE DYNAMIC CERVIX AGAIN, JUST SHOWED THAT MY LENGTH IS AT 3 CM AND SHUT TIGHTLY.

I WAS LATER DISCHARGED, AND AM ON PARTIAL BED :icon_eek: REST. NO MORE SHOPPING OR ERRANDS.... :( I HAVEN'T FINISHED DOING SO MANY THINGS FOR THEM!!!! I HAVE TO MONITOR ALL THE CHANGES!!

DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHAT DOES THIS DYNAMIC CERVIX MEAN????? WHAT ALL CAN I DO????? BTW AT 26 WEEKS 3 DAYS THEIR WEIGHTS WERE 1POUND 15 OUNCES AND 1 POUND 14 OUNCES!!!!SO I AM HOPING THAT THEY CONTINUE TO GROW AS THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO AND DECIDE TO STAY IN THERE FOR ANOTHER 12 WEEKS!!!!!!!PLS!!!!!! :)
ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!! SORRY THIS IS WAS SO LONG

    TAKE CARE

Sorry, I don't know anything about a dynamic cervix. But I'm glad you got checked out and they are keeping a close eye on you. I know bedrest is not easy, I was there, but it is the best thing for your babies. Their weights sound good. :) Hang in there. :hug99: And I am glad you got the steroid shots!

Don't have any advice. Just thought I would send some good pregnant vibes your way and pray those babies keep cooking.

Sounds like funneling to me. It can change back and forth depending on the pressure put on your cervix. I'd definitely stay down on bedrest to keep the pressure off as much as possible. Because of the funneling, (dynamic meaning it changes) I think it gives a "false" u/s reading of cervical length. Any time it appears not funneled, it's still a weaker part of the cervix.

I have a cerclage due to funneling and dilation, and that along with strict bedrest has helped. Try to keep yourself in bedrest position to get to 28 weeks, a good goal to start with!

I was diagnosed with a "dynamic cervix" as well. The good news is that this isn't as bad as a cervix that remains open due to funneling all the time. With a dynamic cervix, your cervix will close and open. Sometimes the pressure of the babies or contractions will cause the cervix to funnel more and open up. Other times, it will close. It's not as bad as it sounds.

I was diagnosed with pre-term labor at 24 weeks and put on strict bed rest. I was 1 cm dialated, with funneling, a dynamic cervix and contractions. My doctor had me taking nifedipine from that point on. Unfortunately, I had to spend three weeks on hospital bedrest from 29 weeks to 32 weeks due to a positive FFN, but managed to go another 2.5 weeks at home.

I just delivered two VERY healthy baby girls on June 1. They spent 8 days in the NICU and are doing beautifully. Take it easy. I attribute my success to bed rest!

:hug99: Sorry about the scare Momma! I don't know anything about a dynamic cervix, sorry. But I do hope that the bedrest helps you keep cooking those little ones for a bit longer and the rest of your pregnancy is uneventful. :hug99:

I don't know anything about a dynamic cervix, but I would definetly follow your Dr's orders and take it easy. That is great that all the tests came back negative. Going to the hospital is so scarry, but its so good that you went in!! I swear by those steroid shots, I truly believe that they helped my girls immensely! I hope the remainder of your pregnancy is uneventful, and you keep those babies cooking for several more weeks!
