Hospital Bedrest

Hello everyone. This is Erica's husband. Just posting to let you know that she's in the hospital now. She was having a scheduled non-stress test (NST) and they noticed she was contracting a lot. Cervix was at 2 cm, so they kept her in the L&D unit and monitored for 24 hours with drugs to slow the contractions. The cervix stayed the same, but the contractions kept on going. So now she's admitted and most likely going to stay in the hospital until the babies deliver. Today is 33 weeks. We're hoping the babies stay in the oven until at least 34 weeks. She had the steroid shots just in case, but we're keeping fingers crossed. She doesn't have access to the internet at the hospital (very old Navy hospital here) so she can't be posting stuff on this site.

The babies were 4 lbs 9 ozs, and 4 lbs 15 ozs, at the growth scan Tuesday morning. She was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon. So if they do come, they should be decent sized. Estimating 3 weeks in NICU if they come during the next couple of days.

 

Well, the babies are a good size now, that's encouraging. Hope that she is able to hold on for at least another week. Tell her we are thinking about her.

Tell her to keep her spirits up I did 2 stints in the hospital while I was pregnant(w/o internet access also). Your babies are great weights (my 4lb 9oz 34 weeker spent 17 days in the nicu and I had steriod shots too)

 

That is so great that they were able to catch this early! That is reassuring at best. Please keep us updated!!! It is hard to be stuck at the hospital without Internet access, I know!

Hopefully you can visit her often and keep her company!!!

 

I'm back home from the hospital now, but on bedrest here. Today is 33 and 2/7, so we're coming along. I'm on Nifidipene for the contractions, which still seem to be coming, but not with the same intensity or amount. My cervix stayed the same for the four days in the hospital, so they decided to let me come home.
