Well for the past 3 days I have been in the hospital. Very long story short, last week I was in and out of the hospital multiple times for contractions. They finially admitted me on Sunday. I was on a magnesium drip on Sunday and Monday (yuck), just stopped that yesterday afternoon. Now I'm back on procardia 3 times a day but they have had to give me terbutline shots 3 times since then. Last shot was this morning cause I was having contractions every 9 minutes. Oh... I'm 33 weeks 2 days today by the way.
When the doctor checked me this morning I was unchanged from yesterday at 2.5cm dilated and 70%. Got my steriods shots last week.

The worst thing about all of this is not seeing my husband and espicailly my almost 3yr old son that much. Yesterday after their visit I could here my son crying in the hallway "Wanna stay with momma, wanna stay with momma!" I lost it.

At least I'm not on strict bedrest though. Doctor said I can either sit in the bed or chair, go to the bathroom and take a 15 minute shower. These nurses are like nazis when it comes to the shower, yesterday my nurse came in during my shower to tell me "you don't have much longer."

One I guess good thing though is that I'm an Rn at this hospital 2 floors up, so I have had some co workers come say hi and keep me company during their break or after they get off.

I was crying a lot of the day yesterday cause my doctor said there is no way I'm going home until I have these girls. I miss my son SO MUCH!!!!
Hopfully today is a better day.

    Hi stephi,
I was admitted to the hospital Sunday after my water broke (I'm 28 weeks 1 day w. twins) and was told I'd be here till my little ones arrive. I am heaartbroken as I have a 2 year old son who doesn't seem to mind that I'm here! I don't know which is worse!! His visits are short but sweet the poor guy just wants to play outside - so do I! Anyway I just wanted to let you know you;re not alone, which is sometimes how I feel. Possibly getting wheelchair privileges though so that might be something to look into! Take care. Good luck!

Oh, you poor thing! I would feel exactly the same...I've been scared to death of that happening.... but so far I've been able to hold on at home on bedrest...I know I'm lucky. I would miss my 3 year old horribly, too... I already do what with others taking him to do things with him .

My sister was on hospital bedrest from 26w-32w with her 2nd... it was so hard on her...but things went right back to normal when she got home with her 2 year old again...kids are so darn resilient and we sometimes forget that...

    The BEST to you...

Thanks so much for your kind words...they really helped! I know - I was the same way - I wanted to do everything with my son and often refused help...look where it got me!! Best of luck to you. How far along are you? I never did one of these message boards before but I'm glad I did. Thanks again!!

I feel for you, poor thing. I had an 18 month old at home when I was put on hospital bed rest. It was so so so hard :( The good news is, you get through it, even if it seems forever at the time, and then you have 3 little ones to deal with.
    Hang in there!

Big big hugs to you. Hospital bedrest is so hard, especially when you have a child at home. I was in the hospital for eight weeks and missed my little boy terribly. I cried a lot. A lot! I saw him almost everyday, but only for about an hour. And visiting with your child is not the same as being home and mothering your child. I hope your time in the hospital goes by quickly.

I'm right there with ya mama! My water broke on both sacks 11 days ago at 32 weeks and have been in the hospital 3 hours away from home since.... Just keep telling myself "only X number of days left..." It's comlete hell having to be so far from my family. I have only seen my 2 year old daughter for 2 days out of the 11 and I probably won't be able to see her again till these babies are born. Hang in there! We can do it!!

I totally agree with how hard it is. My 3 yr old is content to see me 1 or 2 every 7-8 days since I've been at the hospital on 6/5! He doesn't even care to talk to me on the phone most days! :woah: But we can do it...

I feel for you ladies going through hospital bedrest, especially with other children.

When I was 24 weeks I was admitted to a hospital about an hour away. We had a 2.5 year old daughter at home. I saw her and my husband about once a week since they were an hour away, and since my husband was working full time. That was the hardest part for me. I would have killed for a hug and kiss most days.

It will be over before you know it. I look back on my 8 weeks in the hospital now and it seems like ages ago. You are all doing amazing!! Keep it up!
