first off, i'm 26 weeks today! yaaaaaaaay!!!! it's going by sooo fast now!

last night my DH asked me if i have my hospital bag packed in case we have to go to the hospital early, i told him no and he suggested i pack it. do i really need to pack it this early? how many of you packed early 'just in case'? i guess it's good to be prepared...

I always think it's a good idea. I hit my 26 milestone in the hospital...and stayed there! I wish I had a bag ready :)

I think it would be a good idea to have a bag prepared. I wish I did.

I have had mine packed since 30 weeks just in case! Of course I am still waiting but when the time comes that should be the last thing on your mind.

I dont have mine ready yet. I will probably wait till at least 34 weeks. I dont think they are coming anytime soon. If they do, then they would be in ICU anyways and I would probably come home b/f the babies. For me it still feels like forever away until I get to meet my babies but i know it is only a couple of more months.

I think I had my bag packed around 28 weeks -- figured it would not be needed if it was packed and needed if it wasn't :). We also started taking the bag to all my regularly scheduled visits just in case. We didn't need it thank goodness until our 37.5 week scheduled c-section.

I would pack it and have at the ready -- just in case.

I would go ahead and pack it. One less thing to worry about. I think I had mine packed somewhere around 26/28 weeks, although with a doc.'s vacation, I went in at 39 weeks for a scheduled c-section...

It is always easier to be prepared than rushing around. Plus, if it makes your DH feel better knowing it is ready less stress for him is a good thing too!

i am 28 weeks and will wait until 30 weeks. not sure why that is the date that i have stuck in my head, but it is. plus, who knows what underwear will even still fit me when i get to the 30s weeks!

you should probably pack . . . i packed my bag soon after spending 5 days in the hospital for PTL at 24w - i figured it couldn't hurt to be prepared. When I actually had the babies at 34w1d, it was a rather unexpected series of events, so it was a good thing that I'd already packed!

I never had a bag ready, but you should consider it nice that he is thinking of that kind of stuff. My DH asks what's for dinner after a long day of work. How nice is that?

But I think this time around I should have something packed and ready to go.

Just think of how fun it will be to try pack it all while in labor or have your DH try to pack it for you. Never too soon1

I was warned at my last childbirth class to pack a bag right away. I was 30 wks at the time. I didn't do it and ended up in the hosp. with PTL at 32.5 wks with nothing. I asked DH to bring me in some panties, and he brought me in some dark red velvet string bikini's that were way too small at the time. Needless to say I regretted that I didn't pack that bag. But you know what? After 4 wks on hosp. bedrest I was released to go home and have the babies at my hometown hospital (1 was an hr away). 3 days later when I went back into the hospital did I have a bag packed. NOPE. LOL I guess I'm a slow learner. LOL

I didn't pack a bag when I was admitted at 24 and 28 weeks. I just made a list of things for DH to bring and he did. I only had a few outfits that I rotated, so if one of those was packed, it would have been one less thing for me to wear. I suppose I could have had some basics packed, but I was using everything still. If you can go and buy double of things (chapstick, toothbrush, hairbrush, etc.) then that might be worth it.

I had mine packed at 22 weeks right after I got out of the hosp for ptl. It sucked not having my toothbrush, etc. I say do it and starting with your next appt, just leave it in the car. That way, when dh is rushing around to make sure everything is done when "it happens" it is one less thing he will forget! :p
