I have been having horrible back pain lately, its keeping me up at night and I get nervous letting the DH give me massages because of the babies. i was thinking about giving a chiropractor I had gone to a few years ago for my scoliosis a call to see if it would help. Has anyone ever done this while pregnant?

    How far along are you?

I went to the chiropractor until I ended up on bedrest. I am a regular chiropractor visitor though.

I went to a chiropractor weekly with the twins. I had horrible hip pain in my left hip and until I went I could hardly walk. It really helped me get through my twin pregnancy. I recommend finding a chiropractor that has worked on a pregnant woman carrying twins, though. I was lucky, my best friend had twins and I used her chiropractor.

I had bad back pain for the first 4 months of my pregnancy & ended up going to Physical Therapy/massage which really helped.
    Feel better

I have been going to the chiropractor everyother week snce becoming pregnant. I could not live without him. I also recommend using a maternity belt. Not only does it lift your belly to take the stress off of your back, but it keeps your hips in place between visits to the chiropractor.

I could not live through the day without those two items.

I was always very skeptical of chiropractors. And when I was pregnant w/ my 2nd child and could hardly walk or sit because of a herniated disc, I tried physical therapy, various pain meds and finally gave in and went to the chiro my DH had been raving about. It didn't fix everything right away, but after a few visits, I was able to function normally again. I went every few months when I wasn't pregnant, and then about monthly through that and the next couple pregnancies (including twins... except after I ended up on bedrest). I haven't been this pregnancy, because we've moved an hour away and I haven't gone looking for a new chiropractor. I'm a point where I really feel like I could use it again, though!

I see my chiropractor every other week (preggo or not) so I'd recommend seeing one. Be sure and tell him that you're pregnant (like you'd forget, right?) ;)

i went for weekly chiro & massage visits throughout my pregnancy - it was especially helpful towards the end when i had awful hip & ligament pain. my MIL thought i was nuts though - she's very anti-chiropractor. my OB also wasn't thrilled with the idea, but my family doc thought it was great. so, you'll get lots of different opinions on it but i would say go with your gut. i asked my chiro lots of questions & was up front with him about my OB's concerns. he explained things to my satisfaction & so i felt comfortable going ahead with the adjustments. GL! :)

I went to the chiropractor my whole twin pregnancy in fact the one i went to is in MA and specializes in pregnant woman and children. I have back pain and issues when I am not pregnant and I felt wonderful during the whole pregnancy.

I saw the chiro every 2 weeks from about 5 months until the time I delivered. My OB was perfectly okay with me seeing one.
Even while I was on bedrest (5 weeks) my OB said I could still go to the chiro. If you read up on seeing a chiro during pregnancy alot of them think that it helps to have an easier/spedier delivery as well since everything is "inlign". I whole heartedly believe that to be true.

At 34 weeks my baby b turned back vertex. Both were head down. from the time the doc broke my water till the last baby was out was less than 5 hours! I had a great delivery. Alot of chiros think it "opens your pelvis" and allows for maximum growing room for the babies.

good luck! I say try it, and if you dont see improvement than you dont hav to go anymore :)

yup, my chiro said this too - and i also found it to be true. he also mentioned about how it keeps things in line. both my girls were head down and stayed head down from early on. i obviously can't say definitively that it was because of the chiro, but i definitely think it helped.
