Just looking for some people who may have been through what i'm going through, this has been the worst four days ever!

I'm between six and seven weeks pregnant and have had very few symptoms (really just soar breasts, maybe a little more tired and emotional).
Five days ago I had some brown spotting and I didnt worry, then it was more pink/red with some very mild cramping that just came and went. I went to see my dr and she said my cervix was still closed which was a good sign, she sent me for an u/s which they ended up having to do an internal and the technician wondered if my dating was off because it was hard to find what they were looking for (heart beats? maybe?)
Later thursday night the bleeding got a bit worse....now when I say bleeding I think it is more spotting because I never needed a pad or anything, it was just when I wiped (sorry TMI). So Friday morning I went to urgent care, did a urine test, dr checked and said cervix was still closed (good sign) and she read my u/s report and she said they identified two sacs which indicates twins (holy smokes!) and so she basically gave me a few scenarios
    1. I'm pregnant with twins with heavy spotting
    2. I'm pregnant with twins and miscarrying one
    3. I'm pregnant and miscarrying one or both
So NOW they took my blood for beta HCG and i have to go back Monday to test my HCG levels again to compare....at that point i'll know if the levels are higher i'm pregnant and if lower i've had a miscarriage.

This is my first pregnancy so I have NO idea what to expect or whats going on....the bleeding this weekend has gotten a bit heavier (still never needing a pad) then lightened up and now its quite light.

So I guess i'm just wondering if anyone has been through this...or if anyone has or is been pregnant with twins and has had this....I just dont know if i should be scared, excited, sad, worried...

    Thanks!

The first pregnancy is pretty exciting and confusing and scary, and when you find out it's twins.. well.. holy dinah! Congratulations on the twins! Be reassured that some bleeding in early pregnancy is quite normal. Miscarriage is a possibility, but there are lots of women on her who experienced bleeding and went on to have healthy happy babes. The most you can do at this point is wait and see. And come and check back with any questions you might have!

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy!! I had a lot of bleeding with the girls that went well into the second trimester. Many trips to ER it caused, but the girls were always fine. I actually gushed blood, enough to fill a pad. However my doctor told me to lay down and if it stopped witin the hour it was of no concern. I had to really limit things because if it. No sex, no exercise, not a bunch of walking. Whatever was causing it eventually worked itself out, but it was very stressful. Try not to worry, and just discuss your concerns with OB. My philosophy was that if my OB wasn't concerned I wasn't going to be (I trusted her enormously)

Congrats on your twins! I did not have bleeding with the girls but I did with my son and he was still in there at almost 42 weeks! I also had many trips to the doctor...every time my cervix was closed (a good sign). It continued on and off into my second trimester. It never soaked a pad but was bright red at times. I also limited my activities as it seemed to be worse after I would run/go to the gym. I had always planned to keep running through my pregnancies but my body had other ideas ;). I hope that everything is fine for you as well...I know how scary it can be .

COngrats on your pregnancy! Like a PP stated, bleeding in early pregnancy is normal. I bled my entire first trimester with the twins. At times it was extremely heavy, running down my legs, pooling at my feet. I know it is easier said then done, but try and relax.

I had bleeding with my twins. Actually that's how I found out about them- I went in for the bleeding and they said it was twins at that time. I had implantation bleeding around 4 weeks that *they* thought was a period (my dates were off due to this as well) and around 11 weeks anytime I had sex or an exam I'd be irritated and bleed. I was put on pelvic rest, eventually, for the 1st trimester which cleared it up.

Best of luck to you and :welcome: to TS!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! How very exciting to find out its twins!

Everyone has pretty much posted anything that I would have said. So, I won't blabber on, but say that I too had spotting in my first trimester and everything was perfectly fine.

GOOD LUCK and keep us posted!

My Dr had me go in at 6 weeks for an early u/s due to a previous mc and they did not see anything that they expected like a heart beat or babies for that matter so the tech thought the dating was off. We did see 2 sacs though and thats when we knew it was twins. 3 days later I started to bleed. Rushed to Dr and another u/s revealed 2 babies in the sacs and 2 heart bbeats that we saw and heard. The Dr said the bleeding would continue for a few days (and it did) but was probably caused by a sub chorionic hemorrhage (totally common and no problem) They also did a hcg level which did go up! We now have 2 healthy babies. I was terrified just as you are but try not to worry. Your babies need you to relax and get ready for the ride of your life as you carry not 1 but 2 babies!! Good luck and congrats!

Hi, congrats on your twin pregnancy!

I bled for 13 weeks with my twins. It was mostly light spotting, brown or light pink. I had one very heavy bleeding episode and I was convinced we were miscarrying. Everything was okay. One of the twins implanted near a blood vessel. As they were growing, it would cause bleeding. It was very nerve wracking, but everything turned out okay. I hope the same for you!

I just wanted to add that the vaginal ultrasound always made me bleed afterwards... So some of the bleedig could be caused by that. Try to relax and trust the dr. Congrats!!!!!!

I too had bleeding in my first trimester (around 6-7 weeks) and in my 2nd trimester at 18 weeks. Both times I was incredibly freaked out! You did the right thing by going to urgent care. Just try to relax as much as possible! Spotting, while scary, is normal. Congratulations on your pregnancy and good luck!
