Just wondering what type of apples everyone uses.

    Thanks!

Today I used Gala's but I was wondering if something like Macintosh would be ok and they would like it. They are a lot cheaper and they are what I already buy for hubby and I. They are a little more sour though and I am not sure how they would do.

I do make most my own food, but went for the shortcut on apples. I just buy organic, unsweetened applesauce. The only ingredients are whole, organic apples and water.

Anything and everything. Pears are wonderful too (and don't cause constipation like apples can).

DD totally loves teething on slices of Granny Smith apples. She even manages to eat some, by gumming/mushing it off.

I'm sure if the apples you pick are too sour, your babies will let you know! ;)

My guys love sour apples (and lemons, for that matter). Don't be afraid to let them try.

What's "sour" to us is often just fine for babies. My babies like natural yogurt (to me it's like eating sour cream!).

We use Macs here but they can be very tart. I sometimes add a tiny bit of cinnamon to the applesauce when its cooking.
