I just need to complain. The heartburn and reflux have hit me this past week. I can't even sleep at night without propping myself for half the night first.

This morning I had some apple juice and strawberries, not much room for anything in the first place but I made myself eat something. Now I'm sitting at work with horrible heartburn. From strawberries???

I know I need to eat little tiny meals now but I feel like I need to skip supper just so I can get some sleep!

This is so gross but I feel like if I burp, I'll vomit everywhere! :)

Vent away Momma! Vent away! I hope you are able to get some relief from it. Have you tried tums? It helped me (for about a half hour) but it was still something. :pardon:

You could ask your dr for nexium. It worked WONDERS for me. I suffered from it really bad. I am still on it and it is my magic pill.

Ouchie! Sorry you are suffering. I have had mild heartburn (which isn't bad so far). My nurse recommended Tums or even Gaviscon. The fruit you had might have been a bit acidic. Maybe try something with milk instead.

My dr just gave me a prescription for Protonix last week...and so far it has worked wonders!! Really it makes a world of difference.

Reflux is the WORST :bad: !!! I remember it all too well...
Tums on a regular basis really helped me as well.
Luckily the minute that I had my girls all of my reflux/heartburn symptoms went away, which I think is pretty normal.
    Hang in there!!

I never had it with my first pregnancy (singleton) but this twin pregnancy has knocked me on my butt with it. I'm using smooth dissolve Tums for now, that seem to help quickly. But I feel your pain (literally). My peri's nurse said if nothing helps it anymore, to let them know because it can be an elusive sign of pre-e....

I hope you find relief soon!! Pepcid AC Extra Strength worked for me towards the end.

My reflux got worse the further along I got. Now its pretty bad and wakes me up all the time. They do say though that it is a sign that your babies should have hair. The ultrasound tech told me that one of my boys has a full head of hair! Lol! Anyways though Tums is my best friend. I have a hard time swallowing pills so I buy a big bottle of tums and just take one or two of those when needed! I am going onto my third bottle!
I also drink more milk now too and that helps and if all else fails ice cream!!! Ice cream works best for me!

Definitely ask your doctor what you can take for heartburn, and if you don't get relief, keep pressing for stronger medicine!

    Tums did nothing for me.
Pepcid AC was a small improvement.
20 mg Prilosec helped for half the day
We upped it to 40 mg Prilosec, and now I have no heartburn at all!

If the last step hadn't worked, the doctor said the next step was a gastroenterologist, and that it was important to get it under control to prevent long term complications post-pregnancy.

I feel your pain. I have massive heartburn all day and half the night! I heard twins increase the severity of all your symptoms because of more hormones.

Ugh, ouch. I had it the entire third second trimester, AND the last half of the third trimester. TUMS!
