The boys ate 14 banana-wheat pancakes EACH this morning... :shok: Yes, they were approximately "dollar size" but that's still at least 400 calories worth when you add the butter and syrup! They also had 2 enormous strawberries, a couple of leftover carrot sticks, and some diced ham. Now they're sitting here eating lunch and I thought they wouldn't be very hungry after their breakfast but boy was I wrong! Where are they putting it all??? I wish I could eat like that and be skinnier than 97% of women my age!

I wish my kids had such an appetite. We certainly go through phases where it seems they eat more than we do. Right now they are going through a "hate all food" phase.

Yesterday, my girls did that too! Only it was with a Mama Rosa's individual pizza. Usually I only heat up one and DH has to eat the rest of it. Not yesterday...they BOTH ate a whole pizza themselves. Then, one had a cup of applesauce, one had yogurt and then they also had fruit snacks. They were asking for more about an hour later so they had some pretzel sticks. That's the MOST my girls have EVER eaten in one meal. I was amazed!

The thing that gets me is how unpredictable it is. One night they ate 2 full-size slices of pizza between them -- so the next night I made sure there was plenty of food and they barely ate a thing. Anyway, that's mighty impressive! But although it would be nice to be able to eat like that, I wouldn't want to be doubling my body weight at the rate that toddlers will. ;)

Wow, that is a lot!! Some days mine are like that too and other days I can barely get them to eat anything... which is why some days they eat so much!!

WOw that is a lot! My boys were sick last week and ate practically nothing. So this past few days they have eaten a weeks worth of food. No kidding. They usually keep asking to eat but mostly because they are bored (it has been crappy weather here lately so stuck inside). but man oh man, every time they asked to eat they ATE. Lots of good stuff though, apples, bananas, grapes, watermelon, eggs, waffles, pnut butter sandwich, mand OJs, graham crackers and yougurt, kix cereal, life cereal, cup of corn, tortillini, meatloaf, then 16+ oz of milk to wash it down and 3 -10oz cups of water!! And that is just ONE day.

WHEW. How will I feed them at 16? LOL. B)

I am wondering if they will grow a few inches overnight?

They ate about twice the amount of food I would expect them to eat for dinner as well... and they took in plenty of milk and water all through the day. I'm a bit afraid of the diapers tomorrow!

They do these crazy feeding frenzy things for a meal or two here and there but it's been quite a while since they had a full day of hardcore feasting. They really put the brakes on after 15 months so it just surprised me to see them suddenly start eating like this again.

So now I'm wondering if Trent's sleep issues the past several days have been partially growing pains? (I'm assuming they get growing pains... I don't really know but it makes sense to me...)
