    With Daylight savings time issues??

Our kids just haven't adjusted AT ALL. They went from bedtime at 7 p.m. to bedtime at 8 p.m. No matter what I tried to get them to bed earlier, they WILL NOT GO. Their reasoning?? "Because the sun is still up mommy." Well, of course! LOL Why should WE be in bed if the sun isn't even in bed yet??? Despite having room darkening curtains, my kids are just to darn smart for their own good sometimes..

To bad they are cranky as all get-out becuase our wake-up time unfortunately could not be changed, so we've been going to bed an hour later, and waking up an hour earlier...

I just used it as a reason to actually move their bedtime back from 7 to 8.

Maybe teach them the number 8:00 or whatever o'clock and tell them that when it says this, it's time to go to bed?

We're still having some issues too. They usually go play outside after dinner, and it's hard to get them in the house for baths at 7:00 because it's still so freaking sunny outside. Once we're inside, I close all the curtains and make the house as dark as possible and that seems to be helping.

We did the same thing than we did last summer, moved bedtime later. As much as I would love to have them in bed by 7:30, they are now in bed by 8:30. We'll probably keep this bedtime all summer because it is so sunny out. Oh and our wake-up time is still the same too :lazy: Can they make it up at nap time? Do they still nap?

Unfortunately, no. Well, sometimes they do at daycare, but as of late they've just been laying on their cots... At home they do not take naps at all. We make them have 'quiet time' in their rooms for 1 hour, usually reading books, but they never fall asleep anymore...

We had that problem.....I bought black poster board and taped it totally over the windows. Not pretty---but the blinds hide them. and it is PITCH black inside when we turn off the lights. Worked well for us....since we had the same issue, wake up the same but they wanted to stay up later and later. Sorry the sun wont set until close to 10 pm by high summer and no way are they staying up that late when they get up so early!

I also have one that naps now and then to catch up on sleep....

Same boat here with the older boys. Not sure how old yours are. I didn't change anything, though. They're still in bed around 7:30, sunny or not. Complaining or not :)
