OMG! Lastnight I woke up to a horrible backache on one side of my back! I thought for sure that dull feeling Ive been feeling in my lower abdomen must be a bladder infection and now its in the kidneys (Wow I sound really broken!! LOL) But I changed positions and the pain moved around all over my back! I couldnt sleep, every way I slept hurt! Im only 15 weeks pregnant!!! I never had backache with my other kids. If you had it when did it start? How did you help it?

I would definitely call the dr and get it checked out. Back pain can be nothing, or it can be indicative of PTL or an infection. If it did turn out to be nothing, maybe a visit to a chiropractor would help?

I agree, it would not hurt to call your OB about it. I know I had a dull ache in my lower back before my twins were born, so for me it was a sign of PTL. I didn't have anything like that with my singleton.

I kinda feel it all the time. It gets worse from standing and walking. I feel stupid calling the Ob again, I called yesterday for the dull abdominal pains and he just said its things stretching... Now this?!?!? I don't know. With PTL does the backaches get worse with certain positions?? If it was PTL wouldnt it get worse? It was just really bad lastnight..

I hate this.. I hate having to worry about everything that I feel...

Is it shooting pains? I had horrible shooting pains a couple weeks ago that lasted 4 or 5 days. I literally had to crawl to the bathroom a couple times! I think it was from one of the babies being on my sciatic nerve. I did some stretching on my excersise ball that did seem to help. I hope it gets better for you! So not fun!

    Absolutely call your dr.

This does not sound like the normal aches and pains of pregnancy, especially not this early.

A backache could be a sign of an UTI which in return can cause PTL.

Not necessarily. When I had mine it was just a constant dull ache in my lower back, never got any worse just stayed the same. And I called my OB. It wasn't until after my twins were born that I realized it was PTL.

Especially PTL that's this early - it can be very deceiving. Unfortunately, PTL doesn't usually follow any set rules and is different for everyone (and even from pregnancy to pregnancy.) That's why they always say to call your dr if you have any of the PTL symptoms since it's always better to be safe than sorry and there's really no way to know if it's something other than getting checked out.
