so i was just wondering how many of you first time mommies of twins will be putting up christmas trees and decorating for the holidays, or for whichever holiday you celebrate for.

our house is soooo cluddered with baby swings, toys that we've just decided not to decorate this year since we don't have the room and they really won't know the difference being only 5 months on the 23rd (my birthday :D).

so i was just wondering if i was the only one doing this.

We did when our little ones were only 3 months old, but we had an older daughter too. We have put up a tree since we were married before kids though so it's just something we were used to doing. Our house isn't big (only 1280 sq. ft), so it was tricky finding the space to put it up on top of all those much needed baby items (swings, bouncies, jumparoos, etc.). If you won't miss it, they won't know the difference.

I couldn't NOT put it all up!!!!! LOL. But having a baby in the house for 4 years Ive learned tricks I guess. Ours is already up and all seems to be going just fine even with a terrible two year old boy, and the mobile 11 month old twins.

I don't necessarily put up every decoration we own, but I always do at least some decorating & I have to have a tree. For me, it just wouldn't be Christmas without it.

We put ours up but I cheated. I stuck the tree in the corner and only decorated the exposed branches. The rest of our living room is covered in baby toys. The boys like looking at the tree, even though they don't know what it is. We turn it on and play Christmas music pretty much every day. It makes me cheery, more than anything.

Ditto with Tinalb: it just wouldn't be Christmas without it :smilie_xmas_116: . We'll be decorating it this week-end. I have bought new decoration now that we have new babies. I am soooo excited at the result and how our LOs will start looking at it.

When the holidays rolled around, my two were on the verge of turning 2 (their birthday is the day after Christmas) so we did decorate during the FY. If they were younger, we probably still would have decorated. My husband LOVES Christmas. The only thing we did different last year was not decorate the bottom of the tree so they could not get ornaments and also did not use our fireplace stocking hangers, for fear they would pull them down.

I decorated but not like I used to. I dont even have room to wrap gifts, much less put up alot of my decorations. You cant even walk in our living room without tripping over a boppy, bouncy or swing or some kind of baby gear..Its gettin realy frustrating too ;/ its my favorite time of year and I am not enjoying it like normal

We plan to put up a tree like we do every year. As someone else said it wouldn't feel like Christmas without a tree. We're just trying to figure out where to put it. I think we'll just shuffle some stuff to the dining room, which will look odd, but oh well. The living room is a total obstacle course already with 2 infant-to-toddler rockers, a FP cradle swing, FP Rainforest swing, and a pack n play. But I can't wait to see the boys' staring at the lights on the Christmas tree, so we'll just have to find room somewhere for a tree. Now if only we could find TIME to go buy a tree and then get it decorated!! Hopefully we'll get that done by next weekend. So we'll be putting up a tree, and a wreath on the front door, but I doubt I fool with other decorations (window candles, lights on the deck, etc).

Tree is up, with a gate around it. Most of the other items- nativity, candles, anything that could be broken didn't go up this year, and probably won't for a while. We had to do some furniture moving, but it worked out okay. There's just no way I could not put the tree up!
