I have 6week old b/g twins. My DS has been holding his head for the last week. My DD does not should I be concerned? She was the smaller twin and suffer IUGR and was 4lbs 8oz at birth she is now 8lbs. My DS is 10lbs. I guess I'm running myself crazy thinking something is wrong with her and I need to stop comparing the two of them but it so hard not to that and it does not help that I'm a special education teacher and I look for milestones to make sure that they are okay mentally.

My boys didn't hold their heads up well until 3 months. I think your DD is fine! If you're really worried try some tummy time on a boppy with animals/toys on the other side for her to look at. It is so hard not to compare them. Just wait till you start comparing them to other babies too!

I agree, too soon for worrying(I know totally impossible as a mom!)! I think you could definitely start working on some tummy time though to strengthen those neck muscles though!

Mine were 4 months old before they had good head control.

yup, too early for worrying (easy for me to say when I past the first year!). I started mine on tummy time around that age and often they just fell right asleep, so back onto thier backs they went!

Mine didn't start holding their heads up really well until they were around 2-3 months. I wouldn't worry!

Mine also did not start holding up their heads very good until they hit about 2-3 months also.

Sounds like your son is ahead of schedule. :good: My dd didn't hold her head up very good until around 3 months and my ds until 4 months.

i agree with PPs - try not to worry! with my two, one always hits a milestone before the other & it can be weeks sometimes before the other hits the same milestone. it used to freak me out but now i just try & remind myself that they'll each reach their milestones when they're good and ready. me worrying about it isn't going to change anything at all.
