IMO, NOPE!!! My little one was 3 weeks old yesterday adn I love to sit and snuggle with her! Right now newborns just sleep alot...I don't consider it a "nap" until they are awake for more than they are alseep...lol. HOwever, I do find that it interferes with her eating sometimes when she gets good and warm and comfy in someones arms for too long...like when we have a lot of visitors and she gets passed around, etc. But, when it's just her and I, I can't get enough cuddling!

I don't think it is a bad thing either. I loved to hold them as sleeping newborns - there is just nothing sweeter! but I will tell you to be careful because I didn't ever stop holding them at naptime and now that they are almost 15 months old, they will not stay asleep if I am not holding them! which it is still so sweet but it would be nice to be able to lay them down and get some things done......but then again they are only little once and one day I will look back on these times and miss them!!!! just hold your babies as much as you can! before you know it they will be 14 and trying to act like they don't need you anymore!

When they were newborns, yes, I held them sometimes. But I work from home, so naptime was crucial for me to get things done. In general, we stuck to having them in their cribs at naptime, or scheduled car errands around naps so they'd stay on schedule. I will say none of my kids fights bedtime, and as they got older, they were very happy to lay down for their naps!

NO! Hold away! I used to do it all the time with my first. With my little ones, I now think I was too quick to put them down. I always felt I should be doing someting else. Before you know it, you'll be missing this stage. This time passes so fast, and you need to rest too!!!

So when should I stop doing this? Mine are 9 weeks old, and I still hold them for naps during the day. I keep trying to put them in their cribs for naps, but they just won't have it!
