My babies are hitting their heads on everything since they are crawling and pulling up on things. Plus we have tile on 2 levels of a 3 level house. Thats hard knocks!! What do you think of this? http://www.thudguard.com/

 That's cute! I had a friend who made her child wear something similar when he was little. That child was forever hitting his head on something!

Honestly, I wouldn't buy it. Kids fall down and bonk their heads all the time. We have tile as well, and my kids are just fine despite some good spills they have taken. I almost wonder if something like that would throw off their balance actually making falls happen more?

I gotta agree with Kyrstyn, although I don't have tile! ;) But honestly, that's the reason kids are built low to the ground, because they are going to fall! I'd probably get an area rug first, or those big foam squares to put down where they do most of their playing. I also wonder if that would throw their balance off too...

I agree with Krystyn too, though my DH often joked about getting our twosome a helmet especially during the FY and the kids getting more mobile. We don't have tile and our two were forever hitting their head on the dining room table & chairs.

The product info says the hats are super lightweight and only weigh 3.2 oz, so I wouldn't think that would throw off their balance much. But I would just worry that they would learn to play with a false sense of security and when they eventually play without those hats they may be too rough and just flop down hard on the floor not realizing their noggin is no longer protected.

Your only supposed to use them twice a day when they are at their most alert and ready to explore. They are not supposed to wear them all the time. Its just with two safety is an issue. You can't concentrate and give all your attention to both at the same time. Just a small protective measure and some peace of mind.
