Ryan accidentally hit Sofia in the mouth with a bucket. It bled a little bit and now her gum is a little bruised. Should I be concerned? Do I need to take her to the dentist?

Have you felt to see if any teeth are loose? I guess I wouldn't worry too much. Give a call into the dentist tomorrow and see what they say if you are really concerned.

i used to work for a dentist. i have seen teeth get hit from falling and usually they are fine. her gums will be bruised and that's ok she will be fine. if her tooth is loose call the dentist or if you see any discoloration in the tooth.

If the bleeding has stopped, it should be ok. My kids have all had some minor mouth injuries. DS had several as a toddler and then one of the twins fell the other day. It always looks worse than it is at first. I always panic at the site of blood, but then it turns out ok. Just keep an eye on it.

I would just feed her soft foods for 24 hours and see if it's still bothering her. My nephew has hurt his front teeth/knocked them loose a few times and this is what my sister has always been told to do. Then if there is any discoloration, pain, etc. he has to go to the dentist. I hope she feels better soon! It always scares me to death when they hit their mouths!

Thanks everyone. She seems to be OK and it's obviously not hurting her because she has been snacking away all day!
