Ro and D have been gabbling away for months, doing the whole syllabic ga-ga, dadada, mamamama bit, as well as starting on what we think is their "secret twin language". But...I walked in the door last night from work, as usual they came crawl right over to pull up on me and demand to be held. Declan crawled right over, placed a hand on each shoulder, looked right into my eyes, and said "mama" clearly. No question what he meant. I was laughing and crying and DH was just thrilled. Decky looked pretty proud of himself too.
He's done it a few times today, too--I went in our room after putting them to bed, and he saw me (he was almost asleep), and sat up and said "Mama! Mama!". So sweet, so I had to go over and give him a kiss. I suspect he's already figuring out that this talking thing may get him out of a lot of trouble over hte next several months... :icon_biggrin:

Can't wait to hear what Ronan's first word will be! DH is hoping for "Daddy", I know...

I am so thrilled for you.

Your story brought a tear to my eye (thinking of one of mine doing it).

    Let the fun begin!

Oh, how precious! I love those special moments. It'll be fun to see my boys do the same. I just got to that age with Will - so I can hardly imagine doing it again so soon... but I'm excited! ;)

WOW! Congratulations!!!!! My oldest said banana first. :/

Babies usually get "dada" first, so you've got one smart baby there. :)

Awh, so sweet! My DS is saying all sorts of consonant sounds lately, including dada, but he's not doing it on purpose. I cannot wait to hear one of my sweet angels call me mama, makes me teary just thinking :)
