All day I've been having a throbbing pain on my right hip. The bone hurts but it feels like it's being stabbed or squeezed from the inside. It's a little similar to when I ovulate but that pain only lasts for a few seconds. This has been going on all day. I took some Tylenol but it hasn't helped. Since I have PCOS I assumed it was an ovarian cyst but I've never had one feel like this before. It may also be RLP but it feels too high up in my hip bone. So do you think this is a normal pain? It comes in waves every few seconds. It isn't so bad that it takes my breath away but it is certainly noticible and uncomfortable. What do you think? Am I worrying over nothing?

Is it in this area? http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/tt31/Benegasi/hips.jpg

I think it's most likely round ligament pain. Totally normal.

I also had terrible hip pain that made it reallllly difficult for me to get comfortable (mostly while lying down). I never did figure out exactly what it was, but guessed it was either Round Ligament pain or restless leg (hip)! Needless to say, it went completely away with delivery :good:
Hope it gets better for you!

That's exactly where the pain is!!! Wow. I never thought round ligament pain would start this early.

    Hi there,
Don't know if this helps, but I also suffer hip pain, mostly in my left. For my part it is largely due to extreme movement restrictions from 13 weeks on. I was in an elevated position on bed rest for nearly four months and am still very restricted; although I must say it is wonderful to be able to do some standing and sitting. The ligaments at the front of my pelvis have become weakened and as such don't support the weight on my growing belly. I am finding that keeping my ankles together, moving my hips with both knees pressed together and rising from the side lying down position is the most effective way to minimise pain on standing. As far as walking, I can only manage a few feet, but take heart, whilst this has been progressive, it didn’t become this severe until around 26-28 weeks. At that point you are so grateful to have made it along to a time that your babies are going to have a fighting chance regardless of when they are born, that it is easier to cope with the pain. I find that using a hot water bottle helps to relieve the pain in my hip and that until 28 weeks, using a belly belt assisted as well. I can’t manage one now, but find that focusing on only another week or day at a time, depending on how severe the pain is in any one given day, makes things seem a little more manageable. Anyone can do just another day, and by the time the day has ended and another has begun, I look back glad knowing that they spent that day on the inside not the outside, so it gives me the stregnth to focus on just one more day!

The bath also assists me greatly and takes a load of pressure from my back, pelvis and hip as flotation allows me to take the pressure off any one side. I use epson salts which softens the water and eases the muscle pain and also reduces the swelling associated with the tissue damage.

Know that as I am nearing the end of my confinement, I am thinking of you and although I can’t ease your pain, I can commiserate with you and let you know that others have gone before you. We will all be routing for you and your babies. Take heart and know in yourself that once they are here it will all seem like the smallest of all prices to have paid. Oh did I mention, I meditate every day to give myself some relief.
    Take care
    Tracy

Your question about hip pain couldn't have come at better timing. This week I have had terrible achiness in both my hips as well. Last night was the first night I didn't sleep soundly through the night due to achey hips and restless hip/leg feeling on both sides. I notice the hip pain is more bothersome when laying down. Sounds like you have gotten some great suggestions from others and I hope they help!!!!

Go to a massage therapist or chiropractor and tell them about it...they should be able to help loosen the muscles and make sure your pelvis is balanced.
