I am trying to figure ways to get the girls outside at once. We have swings set up, but they are in the front yard and although I feel completely comfortable in my neighborhood we do live near a busy street and I could never leave one out and go get the other one. The other catch is we have an indoor cat fascinated with the outside, the busy street being another reason we don't let him out, so I found it hard to juggle both girls while trying to close doors behind me. I would hate to drop one on our brick steps!

Do any of you have and use the Playtex Hip Hammock? This looks like it would be an easy solution. I do have a soft infant carrier, and they are still within the weight limit guidelines, but it is not the easiest to put on. Thanks!!

I had a hip hammock and I hated it. I bought it and took it back in the same day. My suggestion would be to invest in a Superyard the cost of a hip hammock is around 30 so theres half your cost already. Set it up near the front door with a blanket under it (thats what we did last year) take one out set her in it and then go get the other that way you can still see them both and they are safe and cant go anywhere. My boys are 17m and we have 3 superyards.. Money well spent.

Michelle, I have not heard good things about the Hip Hammock. What about bringing in the stroller and takiing them both out that way? OR...a wagon!!!

    Becky,
You do it everytime! :D Wagon is a great idea! My SIL is supposed to be handing hers over because my nieces are now 5 and 7. Great idea! Thank you!

I thought the Hip Hammock would be a good solution to this problem but it is hard to put on and it pulls on my neck. I would use your regular infant carrier and hold the other one in your arms. My baby bjorn works great for this type of thing.

Michelle, I always get my stroller out and put on in at a time and then wheel the around to the back together. Its been working well so far. ;)

WOW! Thanks for that! I'm definitely going to nix the idea then and just use a wagon or stroller.

That recall was from over 2 years ago. It's very unlikely that you'd find one of the recalled items still on store shelves. I have the Hip Hammock, and I'm not a fan. It was fine when DD was young. Now that I need to have my hands free to deal with all 3, it just doesn't work well for that. <_<

I also have the hip hammock (later model than the ones mentioned) and I really like it. I use it to get the kids in/out when the stroller won't fit. I find that it gives me an extra hand to hold my older DD while carry the other 2. HOwever for short trips out to the yard I vote for the playyard. I use that to contain the babies so that I can keep up with the 3 year old. I feel safe running into the house to get something while they are in there. They are in a fenced backyard as well though so no one can get in.

I LOVED my hip hammock. They were actually designed by a lady in our area and Playtex bought the patent from her a few years ago, so they were available in our little local owned shops for about 10 years before that.

I used mine to grocery shop. I could wear one & put one in the cart & still have room for groceries. It takes a couple times of wearing it to get it set up & working right, but we were really happy.
