Solids will be coming soon so I guess its time to start figuring out what would be the perfect highchair. ;) Our last dd we just picked the best looking one hahaha (haven't ever even used any of the cool functions/positions!) and are still actually using it for her, so dang the kitchen is gonna be crowded!

Anywho, what do you have or wish you had? TIA!

I really like our combi hero. the seat comes off, and then the frame folds pretty skinny, so we are able to put them away if we need to. and since the seat does come off, we're going to able to strap it to the regular kitchen chairs as a booster. and i think it looks pretty cool too! :)

there are a lot more choices than 2 yrs ago when I picked, but I wanted to say that I HATED my Chicco Polly. #1 the tray doesn't come up and fit next to them on the sides and/or the belly, and therefore food always went down beside them. because of this the chair really smelled, and they had to be changed from dirty clothes a lot. and another reason is that it never fully sat up straight... I think this contributed to the problem of the tray not reaching their belly...

I ended up selling both and getting a used Safety 1st wooden high chair when they were 15 months.

anyway, there are neat chairs now that convert to boosters... which is what I've ended up with at 21 months, I just have the cheapy BRU booster for $13... not sure if that's what I'd do with young babies...

look for a chair that wipes down easily and can be washed.

    good luck.

We had 2 of the Peg Perego's. Love them. Easy to clean, recline, and had great swivel wheels. :good:

I got two of the Graco Highchairs that matched my infant travel system. They work great and we still use them. The only downside is they take up a lot of space.

I got two of the high chairs from ikea. They were $30 each with the tray and they wipe clean and stack so they don't take up too much room. They are also nice to travel with because you can just pop the legs off and away you go. They wouldn't be good for babes that can't sit up because they don't recline but I used the bumbo to feed them until they were big enough. For me I thought they were only going to use it for a short time so I didn't want to waste a lot of money.

We were gifted two of the big plastic high chairs that you see all the time in Babies R Us (can't remember the brand). They had fabric seat covers and reclined five different ways. Boy did I hate those high chairs. We donated them and bought two Keekaroo Height Right chairs. I can't tell you how much I love the Keekaroos. They look really nice, are incredibly easy to clean (no crevices or plastic parts for food to get stuck in), and you can use them with our without the tray. So when your kiddos are big enough to sit at the table, you don't have to buy a separate booster. When your kids outgrow high chairs, the Keekaroos can convert into a regular desk chair. Oh - and they're sturdy enough to support an adult so if you run out of seating, you can always move the seat down and use it for an adult.

    I think they're only available online: www.keekaroo.com

I just bought the Fisher Price Space Saver at Albee Baby online because it was on sale for $49.99 plus I used the 15OFF code to get 15% off of that. The total was $47.44 after $4.95 for UPS shipping. Everywhere else that high chair is $55-$60.

I have seen a lot of moms here rave about it, and it gets great online reviews too. I love that it will recline. We had been trying to use the FP Booster Seat that we received as gifts. But they do not recline and the boys just look uncomfortable in them. I'm sure they will be fine once the boys are a little older, but its frustrating enough trying to feed them solids without their head hanging down! So we are just going to use those booster seats when we travel to the in-laws. I can't wait to get the Space Saver!! I knew one thing I absolutely did not want was a full sized high chair that would just get in the way. I HAD to have a small one that would strap to a dining chair.

    Good luck with your search!

It really depends on the features you want, as to what you will get.

I wanted one that reclined, had a 5 point harness, multiple height positions, removeable trays. I found this Graco Contempo when my dd was younger, not only did it meet my requirements but it folds up to just 8 in wide!! Which means I can fold it up and slide it completely against my wall, out of the way, for when I need the extra space in my house! LOVE that feature! When my dd moved to a booster seat on the chair, I just folded this and slid it right up against the wall behind the table and it was completely out of the way. So when we found out we were having twins, I went and bought a second one.

My ONLY complaint, is I didn't realize he second one had a fabric seat cushion. My first one is vinyl that is machine washable, this one isn't machine washable, wipe down only. I plan on trying it in the washing machine, the worst it'll do is wreck the suede type material, but since I didn't buy it for it's resale value, it doesn't matter to me if it starts looking horrible, as long as it works! :D So I would look for one with a vinyl seat that's easily washable!

I have the fisher price space savers and really like them. If you get them at babies r us, you get a 15% twin discount and they always have coupons for 15% off highchairs that you can use in addition to that. I used a $10 off any highchair coupon so I got mine for 75 total for both. Not too bad! They recline which is really nice and they snap off the chairs pretty quick if you need to feed them somewhere else in the house.

We used the Healthy Care booster for DS#1 and loved it so much we got another one when the twins were born. Here are the plusses for us:

    - Cost. $25-30!!!
    - NOT space hogs. Our dining area is relatively small. I can't imagine having to trip over 2 full-sized high chairs for a long. long. time.
    - Easy to clean. For me, fabric (even the washable stuff) is just another place for goop to hide (and another place to have to deal with when cleaning.) These are easy to clean...and easy to see WHAT needs to be cleaned.
    - Portability. These go anywhere. They fold up nicely and tote well, too. We do overnite trips to see family quite often and find them indispensible for this. They double as baby containment units when necessary, too.
    - Long span of usefulness. We kicked our DS out of his and put him in a full-sized booster when he was 3+ yo...and really, only because the twins needed them. I'd say that's a well spent 25 bucks.

Regarding the non-reclining backs, I just fed the boys in their bouncies at first. I think I put a small pillow under the back of the base to raise them upright just a bit more. For the very short time I had to deal with this (a month MAYBE?), it was definitely a better option then having to spend bukoo bucks on giant pieces of plastic furniture I knew I'd curse for at least a year or two (and then have to buy a booster anyway).

Just my 2c on this subject...obviously, I love mine!! :good:

I had the FP Space Savers as well & I loved them. They took up very little space, were fairly easy to clean, and converted to boosters when Luke & Lila were ready.

as for washing covers in the washing machine... my vinyl covered ones - just the front was vinyl on the Chicco Polly chairs... and it said it was not machine wash. but... I did it anyway. we have a front loader, and I just did on gently and they came out fine each time. so if you are feeling brave and want to wash a cover, don't hesitate... it might be fine!

Thanks ladies, sorry I've been MIA. We had shots the day before yesterday and a cold started yesterday so it's been a rough few days! Thanks for all the responses!

We have this one for our 20 mo and really like it but then again we have never used any of the special features hahaha. She hates change and I think she'd be mad to give her chair to the babies but then again she may not be. ;) I think our best bet to save on space with having 3 little ones would be to keep that for her and get 2 of the fisher price Space Savers. One review I read was that it didn't fit well onto the cushioned back chairs like these which are similar to ours. Anyone have any isseus with this?
