I am thinking about getting rid of the highchairs and getting some that attach to the dining room table chairs. I am trying to sit down and eat meals with the kids more so I am thinking this will help. How long do kids typically stay in highchairs? I was thinking about getting something like this (found some nice used ones) but wondering if they are more than we need at this stage. Or if something like this will do just fine.
    What do you think?

We have the Fisher Price ones and they don't fit under our dining room table. The ones we have that do fit are more similar to the second link you posted. My girls just switched out of high chairs after their 2nd birthday.

We didn't get fullsize highchairs. We have the fisherprice space savers. We love them!

We have the Fischer Price space saver seats that convert to a booster seat. We have them converted to the booster seat at this point and they work fine. They don't fit perfectly under our table, but after adjusting the arms a little bit they work just fine. I think we'll probably use them for another few months (6 maybe) and then we'll get something that just sits on the chair that is more like this one.
At this stage in the game I wouldn't buy the space saver seats. I think you wouldn't get as much use out of them.
The second ones you linked to I think you would be ble to use for a longer period of time.

i just stopped using the space saver highchairs because i couldn't pull them all the way up to the table, the arms that the tray clips onto got in the way. so i found some restaurant style wooden highchairs for 25.00 each and they work great and i love the fact that i have my other two dining chairs back when people come over for dinner.
