So DH and I have not wanted to get highchairs because we really don't have the room for them (we live in a townhouse). We registered and got the chico hook on chairs for the dining room table but we realized last week when we finally opened them they won't fit ledge molding underneath the table (BOO!!) (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2265745) and we got them specifically so we would not have to get high chairs.

So now I need alternatives! Our dining room table is one of the high pub styles that seats 6-8 (it's huge and yeah when we bought it weren't thinking about kids in our future).

So what kind of high chair do you guys have and what kind can I get that folds down thin or small? Or what is good booster type chair that I can use with a High pub table?

I'm currently feeding them either in their car seat or their bouncy and they are both crawling and big wiggle worms and neither are an option anymore.

SO HELP ME PLEASE! thanks Ladies!!

This is the one we got. Graco contempo. We got one in green jungle colors for DS and one in pink for DD. We love it b/c they go very low to the ground and very high up if you would like to feed them while you are standing up or cooking or something. We love them. They also have a tray that has two trays that come off which is very convenient also. And they are very easy to fold up and take up VERY little room while folded up. So i would suggest that one.

I didnt like the space saver feeding chairs, one of my girls was trying to get out of it. I ended up getting two of these and I like them.
I just roll them out of the way when I am not using them (and they fold up as well), plus they have the adjustable seat so I can bring them right up to the table if I dont want to use the trays which also saves some room.

We originally bought the Peg Perego Prima Pappa high chairs. Shortly after their 1st birthday we bought the Stokke Tripp Trapp chairs. We love them! They are so easy to clean and they adjust to their size and height so it will "grow" with them. They are simple and our DD and DS feel "grown up" because their chairs and similar to the ones that the grown ups sit in. You can buy an attachment for smaller children/infants. They are quite expensive, but we feel they were well worth the investment.

we have used these from the day we started solids at 6 months and i am very happy with them. we also don't have the space for high chairs, and i looked at the graco contempo which as pp said fold very small and flat, but the price comparison with these just won out, and i am happy with our decision.

I recommend something like this. We had high chairs (small house too) and we used them for such a short period because they were so cumbersome. The smaller, strap-on booster chairs were just easier! Plus, it made eating together at the table that much easier. Also, you can get a lot of life out of those booster seats, as they can stay in them for a long time.

[SIZE=10pt]We have these same chairs. We love them and they're so easy to bring along with us when we go to family or friends' houses.

These are what we ended up getting and they have worked wonderfully! We also live in tight quarters so two regular sized highchairs were not a good idea. I actually bought these from a lady who also had twins and hers were able to use them up until they were 2 years old. They go from highchair to booster as they get older and they don't take up a lot of room. I also like that you can pack them up easily and take them with you to other places if you need them. FYI I tried the safety first version of these because they were a few bucks cheaper and I ended up taking them back because the trays were really hard to get on and off. In this area spending a few extra bucks is worth it:) Best of luck!

What about a booster that straps to a chair? Do you have enough chairs for that?

Or something more high chair like!

We have the same chairs. We LOVE them. They are very easy to clean (big for me!) and are out of the way. The kids are comfy in them and they'll convert all the way to a booster seat. And the price is great!

If you have an IKEA www.ikea.com near you these high chairs are the bomb !! The legs just easily snap in so you could use them for travelling as well. They are so easy to clean not like those excessive soft plastic ones --- these you can hose them down if you like. They are stylish in a kitchen and you barely see them, not the usual eye sore. There is a blow- up insert if the child is small. My neighbour has a very large one year old and she fits in quite well. Oh and cheap !! Worth a trip to an IKea if you have one.
