Hey all! So our dudes are 17 months (cant believe it!!) anyways we have been using the hippo chairs that you attach to the table and have loved them. However, I think the boys are outgrowing them. I have not looked up the weight limit yet but they kick around and jump up and down while sitting in the chairs and just arent as stable as when they were 8 months old. Our dining room is small which is why we decided to go with the hippo chairs. What do you guys all use at this age? I feel like we need to buy something else but dont want to buy something else in another few months. I would like our next purchase to get us through booster seat season. Ideas? Thanks!

My guys are still in highchairs, but our next move will probably be to THESE. I got them for my baby shower and we use them when traveling, but when my boys finally reject the highchairs (or we get sick of cleaning them ;) ) we'll probably just strap these to a couple of chairs and scoot them right up to the kitchen table.

We have Keekaroo Height Right wooden highchairs and love them. Not only will they get you through booster season (because you won't need a booster), they can be used as stable desk chairs for years to come. They're totally worth the investment because they look good at the dining room table with no tray, but can also be used with a tray when needed, and can even be converted into a kids chair when you no longer need highchairs.

I went to boosters a couple of months ago, and love it. if you already have them right at the table, I would just do a cheapie booster. Mine were similar to the one pictured above, but its just the BRU brand and doesn't have a tray. it is height adjustable and I love that I can push them all the way to the table and the mess is somewhat contained on the table top.

good luck. I got tired of have the extra chairs that were at our dining room table being misplaced in other parts of the room, so now they are sitting on the chair. make sure to cover the chair with something if its fabric... I covered my w/vinyl so I don't have to worry about a towel getting dirty and having to wash it all the time.

We have the Safety First Feeding Seats (almost similar to the picture Valerie posted). I think it was around 17-18 months when we began to use them as boosters and push the kids to the table with us.

    Those one seats look cool.

We went to booster seats about 18 months old. We ditched the High chair alltogether at 13 months. My son never used a highchair, went straight to booster at 6 months old.

I wouldn't bother with a high chair at this age. Either those one seats that can convert to desk chairs, or straight up booster seats would be my suggestion.

When I moved them out of high chairs, we started with the Safety 1st boosters. I had issues with both of my boys kicking/pusing against the table while in the booster and my one son pushed hard enough and he fell backwards while still in it. :woah:

Since then, I bought restaurant high chairs like this but did not install the bar that goes across the waist area. They are able to get in and out of them by themselves which makes my life a little easier. They are easy to clean and don't take up a lot of space.
