So I need to start thinking about high chairs! yay!
I have plenty of room for full size high-chairs, but am SO SO SO SICK of baby stuff, 2 of everything, taking up the whole house sooooooo I am thinking about getting the Fisher-Price Space Saver seats ~
does anyone have these & if so do you like them?
Is there any benefit to having a 'full-size' highchair instead of one like the fisher-price seat that straps to regular chairs?

    Any advice would be wonderful!!!

    thankssssssss,
    tamara

I have the fisher price spacesavers and so far they are great! My girls got the all clear to start solid foods this week, so we just took them out of the box. They are SO easy to clean, and the trays fit in the dishwasher. I dont know how they compare to a full size highchair as I have never used one of those though.

I hear you on the two of everything!! OMG, its so much sometimes!

I have one and I wish that I just had regular high chair.

First, it doesn't really save space because you can't push the chair under the table- the table isn't tall enough. I've heard other people who have this problem, too. A lot of the reivews online say this, too. (Which I didn't see until afte we bought the chair). It ends up taking up as much room as a high chair would. Now we have the whole chair pushed up against the wall when we aren't using it, in the same spot where we would have put the regulatr high chair.

Another thing is that we only have 4 chairs and five people (including the baby) in our family. We use one of the chairs for the space saver, so we are always short one seat. We do have a bench seat that we can use, but the twins push it everywhere, climb on the counters and the kitchen table whenever we try to use it. So, for now, we have to buy another chair to accomodate our family or take the space saver off everytime we need the to use the chair.

DH and I really disagreed over keeping this after we bought it. I liked it until we set it up and couldn't push it it (kind of defeats the purpose) and he wanted to keep it becasue he liked it. It's nice, but not a ture "space saver" IMO. If I had a choice, I would buy the kind that hook right onto your kitchen table.

I love them. They are so easy to clean and I just like the look of them better than a huge regular highchair. Space isn't an issue for us either, but like you I was sick of alllllll the baby stuff everywhere.

I TOTALLY hear ya on the baby stuff. It's overwhelming the house!

We have 2 of the space savers and I love them. We have only used them twice (just started playing with rice cereal this past week) and I love them so far. I DO see all the points the previous poster mentioned about not really being space savers. The twins turned our family into a family of 5 also and we only had 4 chairs so if we did sit down as a family (in the future) we will have to get another chair. Right now though, the girls eat their cereal during the day so it's hasn't been an issue yet (dh at work, ds at school) They do not fit under the table either. BUT the way we are set up, they still take up less room. I store the trays in the seat and not attached to them so they do fit closer to the table

Here are a couple pics from my cell

We have a different brand - The First Years - that DOES fit under the table. We love them because we DO have space issues!!! We would not have room for two high chairs.

I love them! They do take up the space on the chairs, but I love how versitile they are. I can put it in the recline mode for feeding bottles and then up to sitting for solids. The trays really are "one hand" removable (expect for DH who has yet to figure that out). When the boys were little and the Boppy's weren't working anymore for feeding, I kept the seats on the floor and bottle fed them together. They LOVE these seats!

The other seats FP makes (only sits up) is much smaller. If you need to save on space you may want to check those out.

I have these and really like them. We bought them mainly for the cost-savings, not the space-savings. They're much cheaper than full size chairs with similar features.

I love them. I agree with PP about the cost savings. I still think they are space savers too because they are small and I can just pick them up and chuck them in another room if I need to get them out of the kitchen. We can also take them to Grandma's across town if we need to when we get to solid food. We haven't actually used them to feed yet. Right now it is just a place for the kiddos to sit when we are in the kitchen. We only have 4 kitchen chairs and I didn't want to tie them up so I have them on two folding chairs from our card table set. It works great for us.

I used booster seats with trays with the twins. No negatives at all.

If you have an IKEA near you www.Ikea.om these cheap high chairs are the bomb !! They take up little room, you can take them apart, they dont' show up like a sore thumb, they clean so easy and you save a fortune.
