How the heck do you get rid of the hiccups? My boys seem to get them a lot and I can't figure out how to help them get rid of them.

I feel so bad. Has to be frustrating for the little guys.

We never found anything that worked to get rid of the hiccups. Fortunately, I've read and been told by our pediatrician that babies don't really notice hiccups and they're not as annoying to them as hiccups would be to us.

My Emily HATED it when she got the hiccups and would cry. Not sure if they bothered her or she just thought they were annoying. There wasn't anything we could do. We just had to let them grow out of it and now they hardly ever get the hiccups (watch they'll have them tonight! :p )

Our girls got the hiccups ALL the time in the NICU, and the nurse also told us that it doesn't bother them. They seemed to have grown out of them after the first couple months, and rarely get them now. However, when they DO get them, they cry and seem really frustrated.

I haven't tried this, but the gripe water bottle says that it helps w/ hiccups.

OMG, my boys got them all the time, sometimes days in a row, a few times a day, it was very annoying!! Thankfully they dont get them very often anymore. I think it has something to do with their digestive system maturing. It should lessen as they get older.

Our pedi told us the same thing. My girls used to get them alllll the time. It did pass after several months.

Our girls get them all the time too. Our pedi suggested having them suck something (paci, bottle, etc) and that might help get rid of them.
