So, I announced this is the Corn, but I'll tell you all here too! I'm currently 4w2d pregnant! But it's not mine, or my husbands. I'm a surrogate for my sister, who can't have kids due to recently being diagnosed with breast cancer. We just found out on Friday that the test was positive and had our second beta yesterday, and all the numbers are rising appropriately, so we are pretty excited! Its SO early ... so it's hard for both of us to get too crazy about it ... I got pregnant with my twins via IVF, and my sister was going through IVF before the cancer diagnosis, so we both know how all the things that could go wrong, and how early it really is! But we are trying to stay positive and just take it one day at a time ... I am scheduled for my first ultrasound one week from today, on Dec 22nd. We did transfer 4 embryos in, so we are excited and curious to see how many buddies are sticking around! Anyway, I'm really hoping to spend the next 8 months with you guys! Erica
Wow, this is just so wonderful!!! I'll post here and not on your facebook. Can't wait to hear how many. What a special gift to your sister.
Congratulations to your sister (& you!)!!! Are you nervous about having 4 transferred?? I did IVF to have my daughter and we transferred 3..but only 1 was good quality.

I was slightly nervous ... but the doctor gave me us a less than 1% chance that all would take, and less then 3% that even 3 would take ... I guess 2 weren't great quality, and 2 were ok quality ... so I'm concerned, but trying not to think about it too much ... I know they say that beta #s aren't truly indicative of # of embies, but my beta was higher with my twins ... so I'm thinking a singleton or twins, but not more!
Erica, what a wonderful, selfless thing you are doing for your sister!!!!! I felt like crying while reading your post! You are AWESOME!!!!!! Keep us posted on how your ultrasound goes.

I look forward to hearing about the "head count". Is your sister hoping for twins? When is your u/s? Oops - just saw you said 12/22 - that's tomorrow! I will be looking for an update.
The beans have been counted. We will need a recount next week. There are 3 sacs! But only 2 of them contain fetal poles ... so the doctor said it could be that one started implant and then just stopped growing, and it could just be a late implanter, and hasn't gotten to that stage yet. So next week we shall see if #3 decided to show up to the game or not. Oh my is really all I can say right now. I'm overwhelmed, scared, nervous, but mostly excited. Just seeing the faces of my sis and her DH holding their ultrasound pics make it all worthwhile. The morning sickness does suck though. That started this weekend! Ugh!
Oh my goodness! Congrats to your sis and her husband!! I hope your m/s eases up soon... And I'm looking forward to hearing about the recount.
Wow, I can't believe you might be carrying trips for them! That's crazy, but so awesome!!! I'll be hoping for the best at your u/s next! Can't wait to hear!
Sorry guys!! Here's the low down. 3 sacs. 3 babies. 3 heartbeats. 3 people wanting to yell holy crap! and one very sick me.
