    Hi,

I'm almost 11 weeks pregnant with twins and have been reading this forum voraciously for the past few days, trying to take in as much as I can!

We found out at our first appt. (when we thought we were 10 weeks, but turned out to be only 9), when the dr. couldn't hear a heartbeat and sent me for an u/s. The tech asked, "Did you conceive naturally?" and we said yes, and she very nonchalantly said, "Oh. Because it's twins."

    Moment of silence.

Then absolute hysterics! I don't know if I was laughing or crying harder, but it was a definite mix of both!

We feel incredibly blessed! We got pregnant very quickly and easily, my pregnancy has so far (knock wood) been a good one -- I never had any m/s to speak of, so my sympoms so far have been just total fatigue, sore breasts, and the latest one is gagging when I brush my teeth. But no vomiting, no nausea, so I'm not complaining! -- and then to find out that we're having two babies ... just incredible!! Twins do run in my family, and I was 35 when we conceived so I suppose my odds were pretty high, eh? ;)

Anyhow, you'll probably be seeing a lot of me around  so I just figured I'd introduce myself!

That is so funny. That is almost exactly what happened to us! We found out at 9 weeks, and my husband was so excited I had to take him outside of the waiting room after the u/s. He was being a little, ahem, disruptive. But it was adorable. We never in a million years expected twins and when the u/s tech turned the screen and said, "I'll go ahead and tell you now....it's twins" we were so shocked! Happy, excited and SHOCKED! I just kept saying "Oh my God" over and over. He was laughing and crying and shaking. What a memory! Congratulations on your twins and I look forward to reading your posts. I've been very lucky, too, no morning sickness, no nausea, but, same as you, completely wiped out. We are 12 weeks.

JVC, I saw some of your other posts and thought to myself, "She sounds like me!!" because I gathered we were in a similar time frame -- how exciting! Also, I think we're pretty similar body types (I started at 113, currently weigh 114) and I also haven't gained any weight so to speak of yet (though I am getting a little round belly). My mom is sort of the opposite of yours though -- she keeps wanting me to put on weight! I guess you can never win, eh?

    And thanks JennG!

Congratulations! Your reaction sounds similar to the one I had when I found out I was having twins... Although I have no idea it twins are on my side since I was adopted, I also concieved them naturally! It's amazing how many people will ask you this... Anyway, Congratulations and welcome! This is a great resource for support and information!

Congratulations on the twins. Being a mom is great enough but to have two babies is just incredible. I look at mine everyday and think to myself....wow there are two of them. I wish you a very pleasant uncomplicated pregnancy.

Welcome and Congratulations! I nearly flipped out when I was told that I was pregnant with twins. It took me a while to digest the information but then I embraced it for the miracle that it is!!

I don't think anyone other than someone who has experienced it can truly understand the shock of that moment! It's like finding out you're pregnant and then multiplying all those feelings by a thousand -- definitely a moment you never forget!

It was so fun telling our parents, too -- their reactions were just priceless. Needless to say, I'm now the favorite daughter-in-law (I'm the only daughter to my parents, so I was always the favorite there) :D
