Hi from Louisiana (w/ pictures)

Hi everyone.
I've been meaning to post an introduction for a while now, but having more than 5 minutes to myself is rare these days. lol

Back in March of last year, my husband and I welcomed our first babies at an early 30 wks after a week of hospital bed rest following pre-e. Ultrasounds the day of my csection estimated the girls were 3 lbs and 3 1/2 lbs each, so we (including the doctors) were shocked when the girls were barely 2 1/2 lbs each (Zoey 2 lbs 9oz and Emily 2 lbs 10oz). They went straight to the lvl 3 NICU but only stayed there for 3 days, requiring no additional help to breath except for a low-flow nasal cannula. We had a relativly uneventful NICU stay with the exception of a MRSA infection for Emily and were thankful for the amazing doctors and nurses that cared for the girls. After 6 LONG weeks both girls came home at 5 lbs 6 oz each. Emily required an Apnea monitor and caffeine for an additional 2 months but never had any Apnea spells after leaving the hospital.

The first couple months home were a BLUR but we all survived. lol My girls are 10 months old today and reaching all developmental milestones for their actual, non-adjusted age. Sometimes I'm still in shock over everything we've been through and always amazed at how far they've come. I look forward to reading and learning more from everyone here. It's nice to find a little corner of the internet of parents who understand and share the challenges/joy/frustration/love/craziness of raising twins. :grouphug:
