Well, I have been lurking for sometime and I finally got around to updating my profile and posting.... My name is RobinAnn and I am due "officially" Oct 3&4 with mo-di twin boys. DH and me were shocked to say the least after having two singleton girls that we were now have twin boys... but we have gotten over the shock now and have be moving on... I was diagnosed with GD at 26 weeks and have been thankfully keeping it under control just with diet. The babies are already measuring big (I already had a 10lb 1oz and 9lb 14oz baby but never had GD with them)... but the doctor would like these babies to bake as long as possible (personally, I think he is trying to break the record in the state recently set). The only difference, we are going for a vag. birth of these twins. Since already having two children natural, I had set plans to have twins the same way. Last known, at 29 weeks, both boys were head-down, so the doctor said a natural birth still looks great (he will do it as long as Baby A is head-down)... I have been struggling with a viral infection for the last few weeks. The doctor just put me on migraine medicine and cough medicine but nothing seems to be helping. I am still up (and yes, it is almost 6am) and have yet to get to sleep... So, any suggestions would be greatly helpful. The doctor though refuses to put me on a sleeping aid (he is afraid with my DH being out of town all the time and having two girls at home that I won't wake up if something happens)... But, I hope to talk with you'll soon!! It is great to find a place with other mom's of multiples or soon to be mom's of multiples ... I have a local group but it seems like all of them had there babies years ago and they already forget what it is like to be pregnant... TTYL!!!
Hi RobinAnn, welcome to Twinstuff! :sign0016: Congrats on your boys! I would encourage you to join our Big Sister Program. You will be matched up with another Mom with older twins. She will support you throughout your pregnancy. Click on the link in my signature for more information. It's a great program. Sorry about the viral infection and migraine medicine and cough medicine not helping. :hug99: I hope you are able to get some rest.
:wavey: RobinAnn and Welcome to Twinstuff!! Congratulations on your boys!!! I'm sorry to hear the meds you were given aren't helping you. :hug99: I hope you get some relief soon and are able to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
RobinAnn, welcome to TS and congrats on the twin boys you are expecting. It sounds great that you have been able to control the GD with diet! Congrats on that. As far as the sleeping thing goes, is there anyone that could stay with you to watch the older kids so you can get a good night of sleep? Just an idea! I am having trouble sleeping too, but for different reasons. I just can't get comfortable! That is a reality at this point in pregnancy though! I have already found this site very helpful and I was just given a Big Sis to talk to during my pregnancy. I encourage you to sign up for the program! Welcome and let us know if there is anything we can do to help!
Congrats on the boys We also have 2 girls and are now waiting for mono/di boys. I am having the same sleeping issues and when I have taken something (unisom or benadryl) I have the worst "hangover" and have a herd time chasing after my 11 month old the next day. I would agree if you could get a sitter or someone over that would be helpful but I can't do that so I usually regret taking anything to begin with. Good luck on the rest of your pregnancy and keep us updated on how it goes.
Congrats on your twin pregnancy RobinAnn!! Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling 100% ~ Please keep us posted as to how you are doing & hope you get some rest!!
