Okay, I just had my boys wednesday, and my milk supply has come in. I feel like I have 20 pound weights sitting on my chest. I am not breastfeeding and I was wondering how to get some relief. When will these jugs go down????? It hurts. Also, my stomach is swollen and still a little inflated, when can I expect that to change? I have tons of water retention as well.

Other than the discomfort, the beauty has not gotten past me, I have two beautiful identical twin boys. Just need some helpl

I've never had a problem with engorgement pain, but here's what I've heard--motrin, tight fitting bra, and cabbage leaves. All of those things will help dry you up/make you feel better. I have no idea how long it will take for the pain to stop if you don't breastfeed at all. Maybe someone else can answer that.

The stomach will take several months--it does go down quicker if you breastfeed, but I'm not sure how much quicker that will be.

PS- Congrats on your new babies!!

I have no experience with this but I have heard about the cabbage leaves & that they work. :pardon: I hope the pain settles down soon! As for your stomach, I believe my doctor told me the uterus takes 6 weeks to return to normal size, which is why they do an exam at that time to make sure everything is good (at least they do here).

:welcome: to First Year & congratulations!

I soaked some preemie size diapers and put them in the freezer... they made nice cold packs when I was engorged and didn't leak (the diapers that is)! :p

hot packs and expresing just a little. you don't want to make any more, but it can take the edge off.

I also did not breastfeed at all and I know how you feel. I thought my boobs would explode!! It is pretty painful and my were pretty engorged. I just wore a tight bra with wash clothes tucked in to soke up milk and in about 2 or 3 days they were pretty much empty. I felt so much better after that. I just wished they could still look like that without all the pain, lol!
