    Hello Twin moms,

I recently learned about this site and joined today.I am a proud mom of 16mo old daughter and now 18 weeks pregnant with di/di twins and have few questions..

    1) My big scan is tomorrow..I am nervous..I had a bleed around 15 wks but it stopped luckily in 1/2 hr..scan that time showed a blood clot.doc said my placenta came off the uterine wall a little and gone back and hence the bleed..can anyone relate to this issue and throw more light.I did not have any spotting after that day.I also don't have previa...I am worried abt what they are going to say tomorrow..just want to hear some success stories with similar incident to calm my nerves..

    2) Have any of u got prescription for belly support belt from doc? I would like to have a belt fitted for me rather than getting one off the shelf as every available variety seems to be for singleton pregnancies and also the OTC ones were not helping me much with my daughter..I am gonna ask my ob but thought I will ask the experienced moms first..

Appreciate any response..thanks for reading my post..

    thanks.

:welcome: this site is awesome!!! I can't help with your first question. I bought a best cradle from the prenatal cradle brand. I was around 22 weeks at the time. I wore it for three days. 1) I didn't notice any difference in my back ache, it was no better or worse. 2) I wore it over a camisole for some time and then tried it on bare skin. I'd read reviews that said you would not notice it was there, that for me was false. 3) The irritation of it shifting on my too sensitive skin was worse than my back ache. It just gave me something else to be miserable about so I stopped wearing it.
I wish now I'd saved the money for something else.

Welcome to the site and congrats on the twins. I dont have any eperience with the clot in the placenta or the detachment off your wall. I did bleed for the first 12 weeks with my boys, but it was because I had a low laying placenta, that moved, thankfully. I did get a perscription for a belt, but have not filled it. I am on full bedrest, and only go out for short doc visits, and dont see the point in getting one. If I wasnt on full bedrest I would most likely get it. Good luck at your Scan!

It sounds like you might have had a subchorionic hemmorage. I had it at 11 weeks. I passed a huge blood clot but didn't bleed much more after that. Ultrasound showed that my placenta was separating from the uterine wall. The dr. was not at all concerned. Of course I was freaked! She said that it was usually something that healed itself. I was told to take it easy and not do any heavy lifting or twisting or pulling. It resolved itself within the month and now all is well. I bet you'll be fine. Especially if you are no longer bleeding. They will be able to tell on your ultrasound if it has reattached. Good luck!

Welcome, Congratulations on the twins!! I have not had any experience with the belt but I did have the clot with both of my children. For me I had bleeding on serveral occasions but then it stopped and all was fine. It is a very common thing and my doctor wasn't worried about it either. They could see the clot on a couple of ultrasounds but then it was gone. Best of luck with your pregnancy

Welcome and congrats! I never had bleeding or the placenta separation, but I know a few people that have had one or both, and they were all fine. I did have a slight previa which was discovered around 19 weeks and resolved by the third trimester.

I also bought a belly support thingy from Prenatal Cradle, and I have mixed reviews. It was one of the super-duper ones that not only goes around the belly, but had straps to go across the back and up over my shoulders. I wore it for a few days, but it always felt like it was cutting into me when I sat down (which was most of the time). So for the few minutes per day when I was on my feet, it wasn't worth the aggravation. It also showed under my clothes unless I wore a sweater.

Of course it didn't help that I bought it around 28 weeks and wound up on bedrest one week later.
