He's already trying to roll himself over.

My son is 3 1/2 weeks old and is already trying to roll himself over. Well I shouldn't say trying, he's actually gotten himself most of the way over. This morning we were laying on my bed for our morning snuggle/play time and he likes to lay on the bed so he can move his arms and legs freely. He got his lower body flipped over and got his upper body flipped except his right arm was stuck under him. I can't believe he's already doing this. When the nurses at the nicu would put him on his belly, he would push up with his arms and legs. He's very active. <---- He'll be doing that before I know!
Anybody else have active little boogers??

My son does the same thing. In the NICU it looked like he was trying to climb out of the isolette! As he is getting bigger now it's getting harder for him to do this. He has never actually made it all the way over but sure gives it an effort!

That is definitely early, but not unheard of.

Go baby on your early milestons!!

Ours both rolled over at 2 wks... some preemies are just so strong and not very big so it is easy for them to flip themselves right over!! Ours didnt do it again until Alyssa the other day went from tummy to back and can almost go from back to tummy (@ 4 mnths). Dont be surprized if they quit rolling for a few months now.

PS Ashley is not rolling now... simply because she does not care to try!! hehe... she is happy watching her sister!

One of my girls rolled several times at that age...she hasn't done it again since then! I agree with the other people that she may go back to being unable to roll for awhile.
