So a little backstory, the girls had ear infections in January & were put on antibiotics, they are known to cause diaharea, but Abbie got constipated, for 17 days. She did go a few times w/ the help of a suppository, but at the end she was taking miralax 2x a day, 1 suppository, ect to help her go. She finally was going normally again, which lasted a few weeks, and for the last month she goes about 3-5 times a week, not a lot, but enough not to cause a huge concern. During this time she constantly complains of her "tummy owie", sometimes it's my tummy owie..... bad. I just thought it was because of all the attention she got when she said that when she was sick, but this weekend a few things happened that alarmed me. First she was running away from me, I put my arm out to catch her, and her stomach hit my arm, NOT HARD, she immediately double over and started screaming in pain because of her stomach, and these weren't trying to get attention cries, these were hysterical it hurts bad cries, it took me a good 5 minutes to calm her down, then yesterday the girls were playing in the tub and Harlie leaned on her , touching and leaning on her stomach, again NOT hard at all and the same thing with Abbie crying. I made an appt, but the flu is going around so they are booked, my appt is on Thursday at 1130, although they said they could try to get me in w/ a nurse practitioner. Do you think I should call back and get an earlier appt with a nurse? And any ideas what this could be.

Oh and she eats/drinks as good as she always has.

I'd make the call. Why make her suffer if they can figure out what's wrong? She may be backed up still or there may be something else going on.

I would want a DR not a nurse Practioner from what you are describing. If you can get into the dr sooner then do, but I would definitely see the dr. THey have lots more training and experience and I would want their opinion not the NP. I actually think waiting until Thur is a long time.....is you dr that busy??? OR is it Spring break?

No, not spring break here, our pedi only works 3 days a week, & the other 2 days his partner takes his emergency calls (we actually LOVE her, and usually end up seeing her anyways) I know our dr doesn't work tomorrow, but the other one does, so Im going to call in a few and see if she has any appointments sooner!

I would just go! See whoever you can and they can bring a doc in if you are feeling like you need it!! (Assuming there's one on call at all times!!) I would make a bit of a fuss so that you get seen and then switch practices to one that has docs there 5 days!!

 Poor baby!! I hope you get some relief for her soon!

I wasn't able to get an earlier appointment! I called back Monday night, and they had nothing, so Im leaving in about an hour to take her in for the original appointment, I'll update as soon as I get back!

Well he doesnt think it's anything serious , he wants her on miralax 1x a day since she is so prone to constipation and were retesting her for food allergies to see which way some of the low ones are going. She was also (and noone ever told me) on the border for a milk allergy so he is a little worried that is rising and may be causing the stomach pain. (she is also allergic to wheat, soy, peanuts, white fish, egg whites, and a few others) OH and apparently she has an aweful ear infection too! Which she has shown NO symptoms of what so ever!
