I am going to get my dd HSHHC from Amazon and I can get free shipping if I order $14.00 more in books. Could you all give me some recommendations on other books I could get for her??
    TIA,

I would get some board books for C&C. They don't need them NOW per se, but they will soon!! It's good to get the babies' library going.

I recommend Good Night Moon (if she doesn't already have it) and some of the Dr. Suess board books too!!

    Diane,
Thanks so much, I wouldn't have even known where to start on books for C&C. Any other recommmendations are most appreciated! What are the "have to have" books for kids? I did go ahead and get a couple of the other board books and "where the wild things are"...

I liked having some sort of milestone book. I had the What to Expect the First Year and it served the purpose. And I second the HSHHC book.

As for building their board book library, I highly recommend to all moms all four of the Baby Signs board books. They also have the parent book to go with it, Baby Signs by the same author.

For a funny, easy read: "Ready or not, here they come!" which is about surviving the first year with twins...it gives great helpful hints and is really funny.....

I also recommend either "what to expect the first year" or "caring for your baby and child: birth to age 5".....they are both great reference books when you need to look up something....

I am a Babywise follower - I like it better than HSHHC....I got "On Becoming Babywise" and "On Becoming Babywise II" from amazon used for really cheap....it really helped me get my babies on a great schedule.....they have been sleeping 12.5 hours a nights since 2.5 months of age.....

As far as children books, must-have are:
"Goodnight Moon"; "The Runaway Bunny"; "Guess how much I love you"; "The Hungry Caterpillar"; "Brown Bear Brown Bear"; all come in board books

I also like: "Moo, Baa, La, La, La" and "Barnyard Dance"

Sorry to ramble on!! Hope this helps!!......
