My Dr. told me that I was able to take 2 different over the counter meds. But when I double checked and asked the Pharmasist she said that Tylenol was the only med. proven to be safe during pregnancy. It's not that I don't trust my doc.-I do-but I always double check & is overprotective about protecting my babies. What were you told by your doctor-that is safe to take during pregnancy for colds? I was told by the Pharmacist to try and weather the cold , but I was miserable last night and I do not want this cold to turn into a flu.

I just had a horrible cold/sinus infection. My ob told me I could take Mucinex. I was happy about that. But that was it. I did end up getting put on antibiotics because of the infection ... thank goodness! Because that finally cleared me all up.

I am fighting a cold, only have a horrible runny/stuffed nose with my sinus's feeling like they may expload at times when i cant sneeze. I've just been suffering through it because the stuff coming out is clear so i know I dont need antibiotics and I didnt really know what else I could take. I have been using vapor rub at night which has been great to help me sleep.

Mucinex or robitussin is safe. As is most tylenol cough/cold products, specifically tylenol sinus.

I would trust your dr over the pharmacist. The pharmacist has a broad knowledge of meds, but your ob knows specifically what's safe for pregnancy. It would be like listening to a general family dr over a specialist on how to deal with a specific disease, kwim? If your ob said something is safe I would go with their advice first :)

The pharmacist at walmart had me freaking out about something too early this pregnancy (I can't remember which med it was now...), and when I questioned my ob he said in ALL his years experience (he's a very old guy), he's never had a problem with this med being used and never heard of any problems in all his schooling/researching. :)

I've done Mucinex, and hot lemon and honey teas to help with the congestion. I warm up water for tea, squeeze 3 lemons into it, and add a heaping tablespoon of honey. The vitamin C from the lemons help and the honey for cough. Good luck!

I was also told to take the Tylenol Cold series of pills. They haven't helped me after the first 2 days though and I can't breathe at all out of my nose....which makes vomiting each day even more pleasant! Good luck!
