I went in for a quick touch base check up last night - nothing new to report on my end. But I found out that my OB, the reason I went to the practice left. She had been taken off OB to save the practice money on malpractice insurance but was to be back on in Dec which is why I stayed with the practice just waiting for her to come back. Now that she isn't and I have no idea where she is, I just don't know what to do. I like the other doctor that I have been seeing but don't love him and would not have chosen him if she wasn't there. So now I don't know what to do....

With all of the problems I have had do I just ride out the rest of this with him and hope I don't get delivered by a stranger (which could happen being he is the only doc left in the practice and I may end up with a hospital cover) or do I go on a hunt and try and find her, have all my records transferred and go from there?

This OB that I love got me through my first missed mc, did my DNC and held my hand, delivered my daughter and is just incredible....

Help, I am just freaking out......

OH NO!!!! If I were you I would search for her and if I found her and my insurance covered her to deliver I would call her and check with her because if you do switch you may find that you are still going to encounter stranger doctors or ones you do not like if she has joined another practice. BUT I would call her to get her opinion of the drs she works with now... if she seems to be happy where she is I would totally switch!

I would totally try to track her down. Try calling your insurance company and see if they have an address for her. The usually have lists of approved doctors and what practices they are with. You could also just call your dr's office, ask for her, and when they tell you she is no longer there- ask them where she went. Worst case senario they say they don't know. Often times they do though. Good luck!

Joanna! Hun, what on earth! You have been through so much lately and now this too! I am sorry! You don't need any more stress, so no matter what try and just take deep breaths. IF you decide to stay where you are or can't find her remember this dr might not be your first choice but from what I gather you are getting good care (Im not a fan of the fact he didn't offer you much hope earlier but thats just me...) I say, try and find her without panicking to much. Once you find her it might make the decision easier. What if she is far away now or with a practice that doesn't take your insurance? What if she's righ down the road and there is no prb switching? Just look and see what happens but do it with CALM.

PS when is your next u/s?

Joanna! I am so sorry to hear this. You have been through so much. I would try and track her down but please don't stress your self out over this. Hope everything works out. Will your current practice not give you any information on where she is has gone? Take care Momma!

    How frustrating!!
I would definitely search for the Dr & agree with calling your insurance company.
I hope you find out where she is!!!!
    Good luck!

As always, you guys are great! :D

They have told me at the practice that they don't know where she is, and my DH did some checking today to take the stress off of me but no luck yet. If I find her that would be great, but I'm not going to make it such a stressful thing if I don't. I think it just kind of added to the whole thing and I panicked...(sp?)

I have my L2 tomorrow so they should be able to tell if my boy has sustained any internal damage but I assume they won't tellme anything until I actually sit with the Peri next week... I am just staying positive and hoping they both get to come home with me someday.....

Now if I could just quit my job and take that stress away it would be a bonus.... :p

Can you ask the dr's office to get her a message to call you? That's a bit weird that it happened so suddenly.
